Dr. Joseph Hanna, MD

I wanted to have a close-out session for a surgery/knee replacement performed almost 2 years ago. Due to the recent pandemic, I was unable to see Dr. Hanna and have a close-out session on this procedure. Recently I have had a lot of pain and discomfort on this knee post surgery and I needed to know why after almost 2 years.

Dr. Hanna provides excellent, no-nonsense and friendly care for my bursitis. Highly recommend Dr. Hanna.

Every step of my hip replacement was stellar with Dr. Hanna! From the consultation, to the surgery, to the recovery period, Dr. Hanna made sure that the entire process went smoothly. He explained the entire process to me beforehand and truly put my mind at ease! The staff was also exceptional, and provided excellent communication and care. He truly changed my life. When I once could hardly walk out the door because of excruciating pain, I can now walk without any pain! I would recommend Dr. Hanna to anyone and everyone!

I was referred to him by another doctor in this office. I feel he didn't take precautions to my lumbar condition before doing a full hip replacement 2.5 years ago. He damaged nerves from my lumbar and now I have severe neuropathy and nerve pain in my leg and foot. I'm a side sleeper and i can't lay on my left side because of pressure points hurt from the nerve damage. I use to go hiking with my husband in the parks for exercise and I can't now because of the nerve pain in my foot and and he made that leg a little longer and it throws of my balance. He looked at me as if he was bored and didn't care about my pain. I've been going to pain management doctors for help and so far not much relief. I will Not go back to him !!!!

Replace my knee, coming back for my hip soon. It was like he snapped his fingers and the pain was gone, back to chasing around my grandchildren!

I do not understand the high ratings this doctor receives. If the doctor I saw after him has it right, and I think he does, Hanna misdiagnosed me. I get that sometimes happens, and in and of itself, it would not bother me and I'd go back for that 2nd visit as needed, etc. What I don't get is why is was so rude and condescending. He seemed bored. If he's so bored with his work he is in the wrong profession and should get out. Or -- be as bored as you want to be, but when I'm paying, directly with my $35 copay or indirectly through the large chunk of change that is carved out of my pay every two weeks for health insurance, then at least pretend to treat your patients like humans who deserve respect and your work as if it matters to you. Shame that doctors are not compensated on a tip-based system like waiters....

Dr. Hanna has done knee replacements on both knees over the past 4 years; the latest, this year. I had no problems with recovery. His skill is such that I was able to walk about a corridor without an assisted device 6 days later; no pain. Post-op pt's have had me able to do squats & lunges with ease - I'm a senior citizen & had never been able to do them, ever. More, he exudes calm when he walks into the pre-op or examining room. Whatever nervousness you might be feeling, evaporates. I cannot recommend him more highly.

I am writing this review to let you know that DR. Joseph Hanna is the worst Dr. I have ever seen. I called the office I happen to have an appointment scheduled with the Dr. Joseph. It was a nightmare, I walked in to the office the staff was very friendly. Then after waiting at the lobby go 10 min o got called by the nurse. I went into the room, the Dr. requested an X-Ray. Went to the X-Ray room for 5 min then I went back to the room to wait for the Dr. Thus, Dr. Joseph walked in to the room with a quick greeting then ask 2 or 3 questions I responded then he said you have an arthritis he ask me if I would like to be referred to a therapist Did not know what to said but yes. Then he wrote the referral and handed over to me. Then he was done. For your information the whole interaction took 5 minutes from the time he came in to the room to the time he walked out the door. I was really chocked seeing a professional Not even taking his time to explain his patient in detail what to expect… with the arthritis and make recommendations such what to avoid or what not or even schedule a follow up after the therapy. I will never go back to that office. I am sure because I am a minority reason why he did not spent time with me. I don’t recommend him for sure.
