Dr. Joseph Edward Hannan, MD

Dr Hannan is very much drug oriented and not talk therapy. Every time I discussed an issues he would prescribe a new medication. I was pretty much a zombie for over 15 years due to this man and ended up in the emergency room due to side effects of one of these prescriptions. At that point I finally took matters into my own hands and researched the medications I was taking. I was very much alarmed as to all the side effects of these prescriptions. I slowly weaned myself off of all of them and am now in therapy where I talk and learn how do deal with my problems and am able to have a happy life. While I do believe medicine can help many situations I do not feel it is needed indefinitely as Dr. Hannan had told me and I definitely believe talking about your issues and learning healthy coping skills is the way to go. In the beginning the medicine helped me to get things going and I do appreciated that but over tens years of being in a constant drug induced state did no one any good… except the pharmaceutical companies and Dr. Hannan pockets. I would highly recommend doing as much research as you can when looking for a therapist. Unfortunately this can be very difficult when you are depressed and at your most vulnerable. Iâ??m sure Dr. Hannan has helped many people but for me he took over ten years of my life. Please do your research. Good luck in all your lifeâ??s pursuits.
