Dr. Joseph Boniface Hollis, MD

this is not my first time dealing with gastro doctors but the first time the doctor repeted hisself over 10 times with the same thing and he sent me for an upper gi test which normally last 90 minutes would take me 2 and a half to 3 hours maybe longer to lay on my back and with my meds i cant lay still for that amout of time and i need sedation and turns out this isnt the first time that hes done this says an xray tech that saw me so what is wrong with this doctor.....

I transferred to Dr. Hollis due to a new insurance that my previous gastroenterologist did not accept. I did not have any concerns, so this visit was simply to facilitate a transfer of care. Dr. Hollis shuffled into my room 40 mins after the time of my appt. He asked me several questions multiple times and seemed unaware that he was repeating himself. In addition, he had difficulty tracking the timeline of my previous treatments. I had to correct him on three occasions regarding how long ago different events had occurred and how that would affect future treatment. Moreover, he failed to make eye contact throughout the visit as he looked blankly off to the side. His interactions with the assisting nurse suggests that this behavior was typical. I intend to cancel my follow up appt and find another physician.

In addition, he had difficulty tracking the timeline of my previous treatments. I had to correct him on three occasions when calculating how long ago a previous procedure had been conducted. He failed to make eye contact throughout the visit which made me uncomfortable. Moreover, his interactions with the assisting nurse suggested that this was typical for him. He appears to be in his 70s and I would hypothesize that he needed to retire some time ago. I am planning to cancel my follow up appointment and find another provider.

The facility is an old service station and they are overbooked to the point that they have dozens of people standing 3 deep in the waiting area and overflowing into the parking lot. Be prepared to wait up to 2 hrs to be seen. The doctor is early able to walk into the room without assistant and is not able to listen or understand simple conversations and answers to questions. He repeats himself over and over again and can't seem to understand what is being said. I have never been so shocked and while he may have extensive knowledge there seems to be some kind of deficit and or decline that is hindering his capacity. He relied heavily on his assistant and I have requested to been seen at another facility by another Doctor.

When the nurse WARNS you during the intake that your doc is old, it’s time to get up and run away! This man shuffled into the room, listened to my symptom description for 15sec, and then interrupted me to say that I’m lactose intolerant. The nurse was in the corner sitting on a stool laughing and corrected the doctor by informing him that my flare ups are symptomatic and that I am NOT lactose intolerant. My symptoms started after my cholecystectomy 3yrs who. He refused to listen to her and prescribed me a medication that I’m not able to take because it makes me drowsy. I was told that I would get a follow up call within two weeks to schedule imaging of my intestines. It’s been over a month and I haven’t gotten this call. After attempting to reach out to this so-called GI specialist during a bad flare up last week I have now received a certified letter in the mail saying “we will no longer provide medical services to you due to your lack of compliance with the treatment plan.”… A treatment plan was never made because no diagnosis was made. This man is WAY too old to practice medicine!

Waited 3 months for a colonoscopy. Procedure cancelled day before. Still do not have a new date 3 weeks later.

I will not be returning. Office was dirty and unkempt. Filthy, threadbare carpeting. Front desk area looked like a tornado went through it--not happy that I now have paperwork with social sec numbers on it lost in that mess. On a positive note, I really liked the nurse practitioner, who was pleasant, helpful, and patient with my questions. But based on the atmosphere, I will not be returning.

After waiting a couple of weeks to receive an appointment for my referral, I showed up for my appointment with all of the necessary paperwork completed and proceeded to wait for over an hour and a half to see the doctor. The doctor never did show - I was seen by a pleasant nurse practitioner and left with a couple of chits for various tests I still wasn't sure I needed. And what I found a bit hypocritical is the fact that the paperwork I received from this office prior to my appointment included a letter about how important it was that I did not waste the doctor's or his staff's time by failing to show or showing up late for an appointment and how I would be assessed a $100 payment if I did. And if the above reason weren't enough, I would hesitate to recommend this physician based on the cleanliness of his facility alone. They need to invest in a broom.

I was very upset when told at the end of the buisness day that I was to have my appointment bumped back an hour....Well the fact that I have been fasting for 24 hours did not help my level of happinesss. The wait is very long and its hard to get in to see the dr. when asked why I had to be bumped back it was due to an emergency. Seems to me emergencies get handled at the emergency room. Or If its that important the person gets in then shouldn't the dr be inconvienced like having to go in early or stay late instead of the patient being put out.... Just my opinion but if it wasn't for the fact I drank the nasty syrup needed to take the test I need I would have told this dr's office exactly what I think, instead if just letting them know I am letting everyone know. DON"T GO HERE!

Dead flies on the dirty floor, trash cans overflowing, water cooler empty, unprofessional staff,nearly impossible to get through on the telephone,over a one hour wait and never did see the doctor, unreasonable paperwork (asked for names and ages of my siblings and parents), rusty exam tables, exam room doubled as a messy storage room, outdated equipment, and I never did get to see the doctor, only a practitioner. Luckily, my insurance company allowed me to go to a different doctor.
