Dr. Joseph David Hope, DO

Great doctor, pays attention, monitors medical history and actively considers past conditions and discusses with the patient how or if those conditions apply to current concerns. The patient is always included in the care. If the condition/concern calls for more diagnosis than can be found on a standard office visit, he will refer to the best Dr or facility to aid in diagnosis or elimination of concern. He does this for what is best for the patient NOT what a cooperating health system dictates. To clarify, if in his opinion a Penn Dr is best for you or Main Line is best for you, He will refer you to that Dr. You are his priority, NOT a corporate decision he makes decisions that are best for the Patient. Highly Recommend.

establishes excellent rapport with his patients(we do share notes) thorough in his quest to identify the root of your problem he is not rudely hurried in his examination he talks to you as the intelligent person that you are patiently answers questions

you can not get in to see Doctor when you want. He is booked out 3 months all the time. The women at the front desk is very rude everytime I go there. She makes you wait 5 min and doesnt look up to tell you hold on . I do not get call backs for lab results. Doctor is nice. But not worth it. Dont go here.

Dr. Hope is wonderful and professional. On the other hand, his office staff are extremely rude!! I had to bring my elderly mother for a follow-up appointment after her release from a long hospital stay. One block from the hospital/doctor's office was an accident and we were rerouted through the mall parking lot around the tow trucks and police cars. We arrived 15 minutes late and as soon as we approached the desk to give the secretary my Mom's name, the secretary scolds my elderly Mom, stating: "You are fifteen minutes late, you will probably have to reschedule!" I intervened and asked what the office policy was and she stated: "10 minutes and the doctor is now in a meeting". REALLY? A MEETING? I then asked for a copy of the office policy that states the fact that all apointments that are 10 minutes late must reschedule, particularly since not once was my Mother seen upon arrival for her appointments, but often waits well beyond 20+ minutes before she is called in from the waiting… room. The secretary did not respond and closed the glass door on us. After 10 more minutes she opened it and stated that the Dr. will see my Mom. We then waited for 45 mintes before my Mom was able to see the doctor. Not once did the rude unprofessional office worker give us a chance to even explain the sitution. Once in the office I apologized to the doctor for being late, explained the situation and let him know that we were not aware of his 10 minute office late policy. He stated that he was NOT IN A MEETING, was not even aware that we were late, and DID NOT HAVE ANY SUCH POLICY IN PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of power trip was this arrogant rude staff member on! Why would she scold an elderly woman like that? Why would she look my mother in the eyes and flat out lie like that? I believe that those actions are reflective of a person with MEGALOMANIA, and I strongly advise this secterary to seek mental health counseling and be properly trained in courteous staff behaviors.

Dr. Hope has been my doctor for a few years and he has been very attentive to any health issues and is very easy to talk to about personal issues and makes you feel that you are not alone with health problems. I would highly recommend him, but he is very popular and it may take some time for an appointment.
