Dr. Joseph Tinyam Lee, MD

I do not recommend seeing this doctor. My husband was told to go to church when he went in regarding crushing depression. I went to him at about age 24, and he accused me of not fasting during my blood tests (I was and told him so), and accused me of routinely eating fast food (I explained I did not ever eat fast food and mostly cooked at home). He did not order an A1C to confirm what was occurring, did not tell me my cholesterol was out of range, and did not tell me I had b12 deficiency low enough that 5-10% of patients with levels as low as mine can have neuropsychiatric and hematologic abnormalities from the deficiency- after I gave him specific symptoms of low b12 as my main complaint and reason for beginning exams and told him in my family history, my Mom was on B12 shots for pernacious anemia. 2 years later my health got so complicated I was hospitalized, and when the hospital told me to recheck with him- all he did was refer me to a neurologist. I'm glad I went to… the neurologist because things were complicated with my health, but it took about 5 months to get in. Meanwhile, he could have at the very least, tested to confirm my sepsis-causing infection was gone- but he didn't, and I was treated for an infection by the neurologist 5 months later, having had symptoms the entire time in between. Look, he's fine if you need someone to go to for strep or bronchitis. But if you are worried about long-term care and nipping future health crises in the bud, before the symptoms go completely nuts- he's not your guy. He is potentially dangerous in his willingness to gloss over important details.

Dr. Lee records everything in detail that you discuss with him and vise versa. He has instant access to prior test results and makes sense of what has been going on in the past compared to now. I'm old, have respiratory problems and till 5 days ago spent nearly 2 weeks in 6000-9000 foot elevations. Now after seeing 3 other doctors with little result except to tell me I must have saturation problems Dr. Lee has ordered a 24 hr pulse/Oxygen monitor to see how low my blood oxygen is when sleeping. Finally a positive course of action. Dr. Lee is cheerful and listens well and knows what to consider important and acts on it. He has been my primary doctor for 10 years. He is one of Paradise's finest!

Dr.Lee listens. He's kind and doesn't lose his sense of humor which helps when discussing difficult health issues.

Dr. Lee treats his patients with care and respect. Always finds ways to talk about life and ways to help your health. Very detail oriented and helpful. Highly recommended.

I like that he does lab testing to arrive at a diagnosis rather than just guessing like most docs these days do
