Dr Liu did as much as save my life. I was facing unpredictable hip tendon repair for a rupture. After-care instructions would include abstaining from lower body exercise for 6 mths after. And then they would've had to wheel me onto the spine surgeon's table because of severe lumbar conditions that I keep stable with exercise, including tai chi and qigong that I teach, so surgery would also mean a loss of jobs. Other surgeons wanted to do surgery, but Dr Liu offered a simpler solution of an expertly placed and dosed steroid injection. After not having been able to exercise for 4 mths prior to injection, in 2 weeks I was back at everything, but with Dr Liu's encouraging advice to start slowly on the treadmill -- only 4 min at first -- until I built up strength in surrounding muscles. However, I was able to return to my tai chi and qigong jobs right away, along with yoga and p.t. exercises. BTW: I am 74 years old and wanting to stay healthy. Now, one year later, I am up to 30 minutes… on the treadmill and receive a safe repeat of injection only every 6 mths, so I can stay active and avoid the spine surgeon's table! Thank you Dr Liu!
