Dr. Joseph Looby, MEDICAL, DOCTOR, MD

I have been treated by Dr Looby for a number of years. First for carpal/cubital tunnel repairs and then he fixed my droopy eyelids. Dr Looby is now doing my reconstruction following a double mastectomy. This is a very personal surgery but Dr Looby has gone out of his way to help me feel comfortable with the entire process. He frequently jokes and laughs with my husband and me. It’s a wonderful feeling to have a doctor with such an easy manner. And although his staff has changed over the years, I have enjoyed interacting with them all!

Aging is not a jolly bowl of cherries and often brings with it an assortment of painful and crippling hand infirmities. Dr Looby operated on my hand and he and his team were not only reassuring, wonderfully friendly, full of good humor, but provided the best surgical care one could find in any large urban medical center. We are so blessed to have Dr Looby taking such good and dedicated care of us here in Cheyenne. You do not need to look any further for excellent care.

Dr. Wyatt did an Ulnar release that went bad. Followed up with a Martin-Gruber Anastomosis which cause atrophy of my hand. Dr. Looby did the follow up and after waiting for over an hour for a seven minute exam, all he could tell me was "you'll learn to compensate for loss of use of your hand". And then charged me for his apathetic attitude and ridiculous comment. Never discussed any future treatments or options, just hurried me out the door. I'll never go back and would advise anyone to go to the OCR in FT. Collins.

Dr. Looby has been amazing in my breast reconstruction. My pain has been minimal and he takes the time to listen to me and answer my questions. I feel blessed to have him on my care team.

I had a horrible staph infection in my hand. Dr. Looby was kind and attentive. Put me right in the hospital and on an IV of broad spectrum antibiotics and operated the next day. I felt listened to and he seemed very concerned about my pain. I highly recommend Dr. Looby and would go back to him if I ever needed his expertise again.

When coming to see a Dr about a personal matter, you expect some discretion and a little empathy. Instead, I felt ridiculed and left as if I was unimportant. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Looby was wonderful. I had read several reviews that he was always late for appointments. I found out the reason. He spends time with his patients! He spent an hour and a half with me. The first thing he said was, "I could read everything about you in this chart but I'd like to hear it directly from you." He was patient. Even though I did not end up needing plastic surgery (and he knew that I didn't want it), he was willing to go the extra mile to answer every question I had.

I was referred here by er after cutting my hand open and they said I severed a tendon. The staff was horrible and rude Looby the hand specialist kept cutting me off when I was talking to him and speaking to me like I was stupid like I was an inconvenience to be there told me he didn't want to cut my hand back open and if I severed a tendon it didn't seem to be a main one so he didn't want to fix it. Half of my finger is numb and my grip is weak. The er doc didn't stitch it all the way thinking I'd get right in to have it opened up and fixed so it's not even closed properly and they wanted to just put a bandaid on it until I asked for strip to hold the wound shut took me a week and a half to get seen just for him to do nothing. So now I'm waiting for the VA to get me an appt somewhere else. Worst plan I've ever been and on top of that the place looked dirty inside the rooms.

We would highly recommend Dr Joe Looby! Can't say enough about his expertise and knowledge.

I have been to Dr. Looby's office twice for my daughter who is a small child, each time the nurse had little communication with us while we were in the room she didn't even know if the appointment was for me or my daughter (which there is 30 years difference between us). When we were called back for her 2nd appointment, the nurse used her middle name and not first name. For each appointment the nurse asked who the appointment was for, what it was for and our guess on our daughter's weight, that was all she EVER said to us. We had to wait for over an hour (which with an infant is a VERY long time) forour post-op visit with no apolgoies from office staff, nurse or doctor. We saw the doctor for a total of 30 seconds. He is a great doctor but he definitely needs a new office staff especially the sloppy nurse who doesn't even bother to know who the patient is.
