Dr. Joseph Mauro V, MD

I am happy with Dr Mauro & his staff. But the receptionist is very rude. She excepts the driver of the patient to wait for the entire procedure in the parking lot. Obviously the entire process takes longer than expected.

I was referred to Dr. Mauro by my family dentist to get a wisdom tooth pulled. The staff was very friendly and efficient. They verified my insurance before hand and told me my copay up front. I used local anesthesia for the procedure. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Surprisingly, I have not had any pain from the procedure. They also called me that evening and the following day to check on me. Excellent service. I’d recommend them to anyone in need of an oral surgeon.

Dr. Mauro was wonderful. Great bedside manners explained everything and we had great small talk. He definitely put me at ease. The office staff was nice ,but I never heard the same thing from anyone. My first phone call was told I'd receive paperwork in the mail the week before. 3 days before I still hadn't received any paperwork or a phone call. When I called I was then told they don't send paperwork and I should've received a call the week before on how much my copay was and what prep I had to do. When I got to the office I was told something different. Tried verifing when I paid my copay. While sitting in the chair was told if the actually did have to be sedated they would need the copay at that time. While on oxygen someone else came in and said oh so sorry for the confusion you did pay a copay for sedation

My consult appointment was at 11:45 am. It is now 1:15pm and I STILL have not left the waiting room. Ridiculous. How is it OK that I can be billed if I show up late or not at all but it's OK if they are not on time? What's the point of an appointment? Just do walk-ins.

I had a wisdom tooth pulled. Dr. Mauro and his staff provided excellent care and follow up. Their kindness helped to reduce my anxiety and was appreciated. This was my second visit in the past 3 years and both were positive. Thank you.

Does not make much eye contact, does not greet, does not shake hand, makes rude facial expressions, scoffs at patients, mumbles quickly and says it's ridiculous to write down directions for patient, very rude, comments on money often. Does not care about patient; only making money.

Dr. Mauro is the best! I went to him as a child and now I am taking my children to him. I hope he never retires because he is just the greatest!

I have had a few consultations for my wisdom teeth and I had to reschedule one appt. and then I had to wait because my insurance ended. I got insurance through my job and was able to finally set my appt. again! Everytime I go there I wait for like an hour and feel rushed as soon as I get called back. But I scheduled an appointment anyway. So as soon as I sat in the chair I started to feel my adrenaline pumping, I'm pretty sure I was having some kind of panic/anxiety attack. I told them I was really afraid to go under and Joseph Mauro's response was well you've had like 4 consultations. Like I'm having an anxiety attack and you feel the need to complain about how many times I have made money for your business!? So I freaked out even more and tears started rolling down my eyes, still no words of encouragement, they made me feel all alone. I asked can my mom come in until I fall asleep, and they answered with one simple word "no" at that point my heart was pumping and super fast anf I… just stopped evertrying and said I can't do this. Still no response they removed the oxygen mask and walked away. The assistant dismissed me out if the room and as I walked out they were already bringing the next patient in. They honestly made me feel like crap because of my anxiety! Honestly I do not let a lot of things get to me, nor am I afraid of much so I was extremely disappointed I had to go through that experience! My advice, don't waste your time, find a oral surgeon who cares! Just a side note, I am 21 and have never had to deal with any kind of surgery, so I had no idea how afraid I was until it actually started happening.

I was amazed to have absolutely no pain upon a tooth extraction.

Worst pain I've ever been in, in my entire life! Dr. Mauro didn't care to help me in any way when I contacted him. He acted like I was an annoyance to him and I shouldn't be calling him about something so small and petty. Didn't tell me about all the fees up front that I was going to have to pay. Waited until I was in the chair and all numbed up to tell me that I needed to pay another $255 if I wanted him to do the bone graph I needed in order to get my implant put in down the road. Well of course I want it done!!!! That was the whole entire reason I was there to begin with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rude, crass, not honest and unwilling to work with me to manage my pain! Ended up going to the ER the night of my procedure because my at home care instructions said not to take any medicine for 3 hours after I got home! So my pain had gotten so out of control and so far away from me that I was basically chasing it. All the Dr. prescribed me was Norco and told me my only other alternative was to… alternate that with Motrin. I can't have NSAIDS due to ulcers and stomach issues so he told me that I basically just had to deal with my pain then. "There is nothing else I can give you" are the words he said to me. This is the worst Dr. I've ever been to in my life! I will NOT be going back for ANY procedure ever and have been telling all of my friends and family!
