I became interested in skin removal surgery after gaining and losing weight a little too quickly resulting in loose skin. I stumbled across Dr. Michael’s on Instagram account only to realize that he is local. I stalked his profile for quite some time, as well as a few other surgeons both locally and some out of state. I spent hours researching online about the procedures I wanted to have, but also on the providers themselves. Social media is a highlight real, so of course we share the best of the best on there. The thing about Dr. Michaels is that quite literally ALL of his work is the best of the best. What he chooses to share on his social media accounts or his website doesn’t even scratch the surface of the quality of work that he does. My first consultation was with Dr. Michaels. I had a few other consultations in the Annapolis, MD area (he is in Bethesda/Fairfax). The other surgeons had great portfolios of work, nice prices, and were really easy to talk to at my appointments,… but I promise you the instant you meet Dr. Michaels, something will click. He is the absolutely best in terms of his work – his incisions, his bellybuttons, his placement, and so on, but the real icing on the cake is his personality. There are people in this world that make you feel comfortable in the most uncomfortable situations (like getting a major life altering surgery) and he will make you feel so at ease. I remember sharing some post op photos with him and saying how happy and thankful I was to have been his patient and could tell that he was genuinely happy that I was happy. That means something. Ultimately do your research and go to the surgeon that makes you feel comfortable, but I promise you that Dr. Michaels is the literal best along with his staff. Research and pay for quality. This is your body and you will be in the best hands here.

Doctor Michael did my surgery last summer, and I cannot be happier with the results. He is a very knowledgeable doctor and very sensitive to his patients. I was very nervous about the procedure but he calmed all my fears.

Dr. Michaels is an absolutely amazing surgeon! I went to see him after losing over 100 pounds through gastric sleeve surgery. I was left with extra skin which made me think I still needed to lose more weight and I couldn't see the results of all my hard work. At my initial consult I knew he would be my doctor because I felt so comfortable with him. He asked me what I wanted to do and then came up with a plan to help me with the extra skin. The entire staff at his office is amazing. Everyone was truly professional, yet made me feel so very comfortable. I'm 3 months out from an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair and I couldn't be happier with my results! He's not only a great surgeon, but he cares about his patients.

He is everything you want in a physician -- expert competence, transparent in expectations, and a really nice person. More than good bedside training, he is professional but also you feel comfortable. It is not an office that tries to find your flaws and projects. They listen and help you understand what is possible and best. I could not recommend them more highly. I trust Dr. Michaels with everything from some major reconstructive to Botox. The office helps you understand recovery, cost, and all options. They could not be more transparent or efficient. It can be challenging to share body issues and expose them to stranger. Dr. Michaels and his team make this comfortable and professional. There is no pressure or searching for issues. They want to know what you want and discuss what is possible and best for you.
