Dr. Joseph Irvin Miller, MD

I have been going to this office for 10 years. I started w Dr Miller I once another Physican retired. Dr Miller was fine for my annual appts for getting prescription refills. Now that I’m having some BP complications, I’m seeing a different side of him. He is dis engaged and doesn’t seem to care to figure out the cause of my blood pressure issues. I was put on new meds that made me feel awful. When I called the office, no one returned my call. I was even hospitalized and no one returned my call. It’s scary that a Cardiologist can give you drugs that impact your heart and not follow up to see how you’re doing.

After calling the snellville office 5 times on different days and at different times, I never got through to a live person. In order to make am appointment you had to leave your name and number and hope for a callback. Finally I called the Atlanta office and they suggested trying the doctors line , which I did. Finally a person answered and when I explained how long I had been trying to reach someone to make an appointment, she very curtly told me she was very busy and couldn't answer the appointment line. Personally I just don't have time to wait around for a call back just to make an appointment.. So sadly I had to mark dr miller off of my list of cardiologists and used someone else who actually has a front office who answers the phone. I wouldn't recommend dr millers snellville office due to inaccessibility.

Dr. Miller is a great guy. He is very personable and caring. Though he no longer practices down here at Fayette Piedmont hospital, I will always drive to the Atlanta Piedmont office (45min to 1hr) to see him. He always takes time with us to address our medical concerns and I believe he really cares about the people that come through his groups practice. I HIGHLY recommend that you see Dr. Miller if you are in need of a Cardiologist.

I had a drug reaction to meds he gave me; called over and over that I had arm and chest pain and very high blood pressure but he refused to see me, just told me to increase/decrease meds by 1/2 pill, etc. Caused me to have TWO HEART ATTACKS. He admitted he caused them and then said he didn't have a clue how to treat me and kicked me out of his practice.NONE of this would have happened if HE HAD SEEN me in person. I could never get an appointment.He refused to look me in the eye after he admitted he screwed up. He referred me to Emory instead of others in his practice as I don't think he wanted them to know how terrible a physician he was.A friend with my same condition went to him;he was so terrible she never saw him again.Also note that I had blood pressure of 200/120 in his office and he did NOTHING to lower it. Gave me meds that he said would take 10 days to work! My PCP wanted me to turn him in.
