Dr. Joseph Minick, MD

I spent a long time in the 1980's and 90's at Mesa Vista. He treated me with a kindness I've rarely known. At first I was "Shame-fully" shy. But with his patience he saw me thru some of the worst years of my life. I feared everything and everyone, I was frozen in time. He never pushed me to speak or do anything I didn't want to. He is the best Psychiatrist I've ever seen and I cannot recommend him enough. Warmly, Annie M.

I've seen Dr. Minick multiple times as a patient in the Intensive Outpatient Therapy DBT program at Mesa Vista Hospital. I have found him to be a vocal advocate for his patients, of whom he cares about immensely. The time he spent with me averaged 45 minutes a week Durning our sessions, he worked with me on my grave depression; my compulsion to self harm; my suicidal ideations; my anger; and my anxiety issues. He never once suggested ECT as a treatment option, instead believing that DBT was the perfect placement for me. I appreciated his honesty. I appreciated his courteousness. I appreciated the time he spent with me discussing my most pressing issues. Most of all, though, I appreciated his genuineness and the time we spent talking about life in general. I realized in those general discussions that I was missing something in my life. I was missing life. Dr. Minick helped me to get back to life. It was about time. I will be forever grateful.

This man should be banned from practicing.

I saw this doctor only once but that was more than enough!

Has one track mind ... ECT. threatens to take you to court, if you do not comply.

Dr. Minick is weighted down by strong, and potentially deleterious biases in his ability to accurately diagnose and treat patients. He is extremely rigid in these biases. He, therefore, treats patients in a most patronizing and self-righteous manner. I had an absolutely traumatic experience with this man.
