What I find interesting is another Pain management doctor is on local news, getting investigated by the FBI. The next week, Oei is retiring. Hummmm? I saw him for first visit, shelled out my payment. Had to get MRI, shelled out more money. Go to second visit, I get the news. I have to find another doctor he says, here's a list...goodbye. I'm in tears with my pain. Drove an hour to get to appointment, thinking I was going to get some relief. Still in pain. He could have just called with that news. He did nothing. I want my money back!!! Dr Oei and his account wife most certainly CAN afford it. Everytime I've called about refune I get the classic run around. I wonder what the number to the TX Medical Board is........

I've been a patient of Dr. Oei for 6 years for treatment of severe pain which emanates from three different spinal degenerative conditions that appear to be genetic, as my father (deceased), sister, and brother have, or had in my father's case, the exact same circumstances. Those are lumbar central stenosis, foraminal stenosis, and facet joint arthritis. The aforementioned treatment consists of two parts, one being via prescription medications for pain and muscle relaxants. The other is in the form of steroidal injections, mainly in my facet joints. For 15 years before I became a patient of Dr. Oei, I had been treated for back pain by other physicians which were also Board Certified in Pain Management, but due to my dissatisfaction with those individuals, and upon hearing so many complimentary things about Dr. Oei from my friends who are, or have been his patients, I asked if he would take me as a patient as well. His willingness to do so has had a very positive impact in my… ability to cope with daily life. The prescription drug regimen he prescribed has resulted in my taking less medication to achieve the same result as I received from other physicians, that prescribed more. And of greater benefit to me, when he administers my injections, before he puts me under anesthesia (he is a Board Certified Anesthesiology as well), he presses on many different points on my back with his thumb, so I can identify for him, the exact points which are the most painful. His injection points are then determined by that process, and directing the steriods to the specific areas in which I have the most pain, has yielded the best results for me. We all judge our physicians by the results we receive from the treatments they prescribe, and how they treat us as human beings. So from my standpoint, Dr. Oei is one of the kindest, most caring, and competent physicians I have encountered during my 70 years on this earth, and I am extremely grateful to him and his staff, for all they have done for me. So I don't hesitate to give a 5 Star rating to Dr. Oei and his team.

I went to see Dr. Oei due to severe lower back pain. He explained my MRI so well and showed me exactly what was happening with my back. When I later went to get my spinal injections I was very scared. He made me feel safe and relaxed. I didn't even feel anything as he was working on me. Dr. Oei explained as he worked on me step by step and what sensation I would have. I went 2 more times and the experience was just as good.

This medical office is anything but a medical office. The office assistant Kim is the rudest person I have ever encountered in a doctor's office. Just trying to get information about becoming a new patient was the worst experience I have ever had . She treated me as if I was not there and trying to get any information out of her was useless. If this is how the front desk is run and how they treat people I can only imagine how rude the doctor is. Shame on them for treating people so bad!

I have been a patient at this facility for over 10 years. I have seen the "Doctor" about 12 times in those 10 years. He is mean, rude, and does not have the time of day for you. His assistant does all the work. Nobody there cares a bit. Nobody even asks you how you are feeling. Why am I still there ? Fear of the unknown. This doctor and his wife drive Jaguars and Cadillacs. Good for them. Bad for you. I am still in awful debilitating chronic pain.

I like Joseph Oei , MD. and the assistant they tell you how it is . recommend them any time.
