Dr. Joseph Wayne Oliva, DO

I went to the emergency room for a painful mass under my arm. Dr. Oliva looked at it, said it was a white head pimple and asked if I wanted pain meds. I declined and he left. He never came back in the room, but sent his resident. The resident did an exam and noticed the mass was the size of a golf ball. I was discharged and advised to sit in a tub of warm water until it burst. The next morning I woke up and it was the size of a tennis ball. I went to a dermatologist and found out I had a bacterial infection requiring antibiotics and the area to be lanced. The pain and discomfort that I have been experiencing for the last two weeks could have been avoided had Dr. Oliva done his job! When I have an emergency and my doctor's office isn't open, I trust going to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. If I ever see him on staff in the future, I would leave. He does not reflect the standard care that I have received in the past.

Refused medical care in ER on a well documented medical condition. Lack of treatment with this disease can easily become life threatening.

His lack of any compassion during my mother's death was upsetting to say the least. he was the attending hospital doctor and I would never send my worst enemy to see this male, "he didn't qualify to be called Man"

Horrible attention from this Dr, I've never seen anything like this in a medical professional, poor physical exam and poor common sense, I have insurance and I paid $250 by a urine because he couldn't indicate another labs or exams, he only gave me a referral and prescribed 2 meds one of them I can found it over the counter. Never Again in Kendall Regional Hospital ER with this Dr!!!!!

Dr. Oliva really made me feel at ease with my situation. He was very attentive to my needs, even after I was admitted to the hospital he still followed up on me to make sure everything was ok. I thank him so much for his wonderful care.

Emergency room visit. Staff was good, Dr. Oliva couldn't have cared less. Left all the work to staff. Didn't bother to examine me. Sent me for x-rays and after that gave me a referral. Spent the following 3 months with various doctors to remmediate his poor performance.

Dr. Oliva had no interest in my condition. Left all the issues to the nurses. Had complications after my ER visit due to his lack of a thorough exam.

This doctor was a complete jerk. He has absolutely NO bedside manner. I will NEVER return to Baptist West because of him. He threatened me and called me an unfit parent in front of my child. He should never work in an ER especially not a pediatric ER around children and parents. I quite honesly do not believe he should be in the medical field.

Would not recommend. Seemed oblivious to situation in ER.
