Dr. Joseph Wales Oquinn, MD

Dr Patel had been my pain physician for 12 yrs When Dr Patel went out on his own. I started seeing Dr O Quinn he is the nicest Dr I’ve ever met. He listens an takes time on your other meds you are taking. I had been hospitalized since the last time id Aden him so I picked up all my labs an meds that was given in the hospital . I’m not a dishonest person an I was told that makes it easier for him . I told Dr O Quinn if you’re honest you have nothing to hide. As well I only waited maybe 15 minutes later than scheduled visit. I just Pray that Dr O Quinn I’ll have until I die or he relocates He can see your pain thru your eyes an now he’s ordered MRI TOP AN BOTTOM so he can find out my problems so I can live at least a 25% pain Free Life So anyone that disrespects Dr O Quinn . You won’t have a problem if you just be upfront an Honest. I myself have No Neg issues He will help you an find you the right medication that require unless you just won’t a certain med that may not mix with other… meds other Drs have given you . You won’t never meet anyone as knowledgeable an bk in your lifestyle. He in my book I’ve rated 100 Stars but the diagram only goes to 5.

Dr O’Quinn shows concern and care when trying to assess your pain management issues. Highly recommend

Apparently he has taken on pain associates of Greenville. I have been going to pain associates for years, they are great. This past month I have struggled more than usual, I have never seen this dr but had high hopes that I’d be sent for MRI today and see what has changed. Instead I was rudely told that he doesn’t like the medication I take, which I have used by directions for many years and if I didn’t take something else I would not be seen there. So much for getting help today. I’m discouraged, I don’t want Morphine and things as such. I want to know what is wrong and fix it. Awful

He did help me out with my pain in the beginning until I failed a drug test, which is understandable but if he had listened to my side of the story, maybe he would have understood the situation and how I failed. But he did not give me a chance to explain as if he thought I was just a drug addict which I'm not. I suffer from MS and I have a really bad neck among other things, and now a broken back also. So I truly do need pain medication and that is their job, to help people with this type of serious pain. Since he would not listen to my side of the story I guess I will put it on here. I used to be on Subutex but I quit taking them because they made me feel like I had high blood pressure like my face would swell and get red. Instead of throwing them all away I had a few put into a bottle and I also take trazodone to help me sleep and I must have accidentally picked up the wrong pill and swallowed it. If I were going to take a Subutex I would have let it dissolve under my tongue not… swallowed it. So now I am without a doctor because of this and I have all of these medical issues that are incurable except for my back because it will heal eventually but now I have no relief from this horrible pain. I honestly thought that doctors were supposed to listen to their patients and understand when accidents do happen and he could clearly see what type of person I am and I know that he could tell that I'm not a drug addict seeking drugs but only seeking some relief from this pain. If I was a drug seeker I would have asked him to put me on something stronger than 7.5 Norco. But I didn't because I was trying to make that work for me as best as I could. So because of that mix up I have to live the rest of my life in so much pain it's unbearable, which is really bad because I have two children that have to see me like this everyday, allowing them to see how bad it is for me when I've tried hard to hide how bad I am from them.

He is nice and explained everything I ask him. he works with you really well. Dr Patel put a cortizone shot in my lower back and now I have leg cramps, tiredness and other side effect problems. Found out there are different kinds of this injection, this one does not work for me. Don't know about him..

Apparently Dr. O'Quinn has decided to specialize in Pain Management in Anderson SC now. He has no expertise nor any credentials I could find that would qualify him to treat those in acute and chronic pain. On my first visit to him I spoke with other patients and they all had the same problem with him that I was experiencing - he removed many chronic pain patients off their normal, useful medication regimen and put them on much stronger medicines than they needed or wanted. We thought we were just having our usual follow up MD appointment and medicine refills. What we got was : a bad attitude, changes to our medicine that were unwarranted, prescriptions not covered by our insurance(this happened to me 3 times over the course of 2 days) and the list goes on....one of his nurses also told me that one of the reasons for his changing all these medicines out of the blue is because he is not allowed to write for certain dosages of drugs that many of his patients were on unless he wanted… trouble with his licensing.
