Dr. Ortenberg was very thorough and attentive as well as very easy to talk to.

My son has to have surgery tomorrow and this is the first doctor that I have came across that doesn't give any information until the day before about the time location or special instructions! Parents have to prepare take off work know how long child is going to be in hospital.

Sounds like Dr Ortenberg's diagnosis of choice is constipation for everything. He too had his intern check my daughters ultrasounds of which he only checked one not all 4 a d made his diagnosis on that. Then Dr Ortenberg did not check my daughter, he took his intern's diagnosis until I asked him what the next step was and he said an ultrasound of the kidneys. Guess what? That's was on the other 3 ultrasounds. Needless to say, he too gave us a load of paperwork on constipation, fiber and toilet schedules and told us that it was constipation and therefore a Gastro issue not his. So we shoild follow-up with the Gastroenterologist. I will never take her back to him or recommend him to anyone. He needs to retire if he does not want to diagnose patients. And he definitely does not have the bedside manner to work with children. Wish I would have seen this sight before I took my daughter to him.
