Dr. Joseph Edward Palascak, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Palascak's since 1998. He is a brilliant doctor!! His diagnostic skills are excellent. Years ago before I began seeing Dr. P. , I was diagnosed with a Factor 8 deficiency. Dr. Palascak said I was incorrectly diagnosed. He told me I have Von Willebrands Disease. I could have had a potentially serious problem without his accurate diagnosis. Dr. Palascak is kind, easy to understand, clearly explains his diagnosis and never rushes me even though he is very busy. I personally grade him a 10 out of 10!! I highly recommend Dr. Palascak.

This doctor is horrible! I waited over 3 1/2 hours for him to spend 10 minutes with him. He can't answer any questions. Don't go to this doctor or you will die!

I was given the prep that you drink the night before to clean out your bowels. I drank all but a few inches in the container and was passing clear with my bowels. The day of the colonoscopy the Dr asked if I took the prep the night before and the morning of the procedure. I told him I took the prep the night before, as per the instructions on the container. The Doctor informed me that I might not be cleaned out enough and if so I would have to do this all over again. I assured him that I had followed procedure and was going totally clear, no color in my bowels. I asked the Doctor to please not make me come back again, it is hard enough to do this once every 5 years. He said, "we will see." THis is also my second colonoscopy. I preped exactly the same for my first one hand had no issues with not being clean enough. When I was in for this second procedure I had enough medication that I was unable to move or speak but I was awake for the whole procedure. During the procedure I was… experiencing so much pain throughout the whole procedure my face much have shown it. The nurse was telling me that she was applying pressure to my abdomin to help me. When the doctor came out to talk to me, I will still so sedated I could not grasp what he was saying to me and I could not respond. What he told me is that I was not cleaned out all of the way, there was some residual bowel and that I have to do the cleanse all over again and come back. This is very stressful for me. I have never heard of a doctor doing this before. I was very very aware of making sure my bowels were clear before this procedure and am upset that this doctor would make me do this all over again. I have known people that have only drank a few glasses of the prep and the doctors have never turned them away and made them come back. I made sure mine were clean because of my family history of mother and father both having colon cancer. I do not take this procedure lightly. Having this doctor turn me away and tell me I have to have this procedure done all over is tremendously upsetting to me. No one wants to have a colonoscopy let alone be told you have to try again. I will not go back to Dr. Palascak for the above reason and also that the procedure with him was so painful and I have a high tolerance for pain.

A phenomenal doctor. He cares about you as a person, not a paying customer. I think Dr. Palascak is one of the most brilliant doctors I've seen in my lifetime, he's one of the few reasons I regret leaving the Cincinnati area.
