Dr. J. A Parr, MD

Dr. Parr is a very accomplished person in the field of Orthopedic Surgery. One year ago I had a total knee replacement and the surgery went as well as expected with Dr., Parr johnny on the spot when any concern was expressed during my recuperation. He is a very caring doctor.

That rarest of surgeons, a doctor whose genius is obvious in and out of the operating room, Dr. Parr gave me a whole new ownership on life, not merely a "lease." The hip replacement he performed has been absolutely miraculous from start to finish. If you need hip or knee replacement, you can do no better than Dr. Parr.

This was a nightmare from start to finish I had wanted to get a doctor in Indy because many people I had talked to said they had a better experience there with knee replacement when they had both knees done.. I made my 1st appointment in Nov, 2015, and the Doctors office canceled 2 days before it and rescheduled for a month later. It is almost 300 miles from Evansville to Indy and I had to redo several things to make the new appointment. I had to call several times to find out why my new patient packet had not been sent. The reply was pretty much "Oops" will get it right out. Still had to call once more before I got it. Per my paper work my appointment was for 1;30, they asked that we get their early to fill out more paperwork and get xrays. I got to the office at 1 pm and into the main office by 1:15. And then we waited and waited and waited. I asked at the desk what was the hold up and was told my appointment was at 2. Not by my paperwork. Anyway back to waiting and waiting and… waiting. I was at last sent back to an exam room at 2:30 and waited and waited and waited. it was 4 pm when the doctor got in to see me, and spent maybe 10 minutes. He never mentioned the wait time or was rather abrupt and rude. I can not recommend this doctor or office at all.

Was not at all happy with my visit to Dr. Parr. The wait in the waiting room was long and the wait in the exam room was longer. He first sends in an understudy to look you over then struts in about an hour later, not doing his own exam to more or less tell you what you already know. He will suggest surgery though. A friend of mine let him talk her into surgery that didn't help at all. Watch out for this surgery happy doctor. Oh and don't even try to get a medication refill. It takes several phone calls and faxes and then when it finally gets taken care of over a week later, the follow up comment from J.A. Parr is next time have your primary care physician take care of it.

I nearly died in an accident in which my left hip exploded. I was told to tolerate as long as possible, the strange hip that came together after healing of the bone that was placed in traction. After 9 years, two MD's said they did not have the expertise to repair it and recommended Dr. Andrew Parr. I am so glad they did! Though my hip replacement and repair was quite intensive and time-consuming, Dr. Parr patiently worked his way through intermixed dead and live areas and successfully completed by L. hip repair. He has a great, peppy bedside manner and I personally think he is TOPS!

The waiting time was a little longer, but was well worth the wait. He was professional, answered every question we had, was friendly and very easy to talk to. My surgery went well and my outcome very good. We are grateful for him and his staff.

I have had 5 surgeries on my hip. I am 45! I had 2 butcher surgeons in Phoenix. I was in extreme pain and walked with a profound limp. The 2 surgeons in Phoenix, told me I was hysterical and needed mental health counseling. 1 visit with Dr. Parr showed my hip bone had died and had been dead when I saw the last doctor in Phoenix. (I had my last x-rays). Dr.Parr, saved my life in so many ways!!!He fixed my hip and my limp!! He is the MOST thoughtful and caring doctor I have ever been too! I have past addiction issues and every doctor I have gone too, treats me like a junkie! I have been clean for 16 years and am always honest about my past!. Dr. Parr went out of his way to make sure that I had adequate pain relief and even consulted with an addictionologist for my medications! I have since had a shoulder replacement and I can tell you, that doctor has NOTHING on Dr. Parr!! Dr. Parr is my hero. I will never be able to thank him enough for what he has done for me!! His staff is wonderful… and caring too! If you need an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Parr is THE MAN!!!!!!
