Dr. Joseph Michael Phillips, MD

Dr. Joseph Phillips is one of if not the best doctors that I have ever been treated by. He takes his time to be sure you understand want issue you have and how he is going to treat it. His many years of teaching at Dartmouth Medical School gives him a depth of understand and patience so that he can relate very complex topics.

In a consultation for lumbar fusion surgery, Dr. Phillips helped me understand the issues w/ my back better than the 5 other surgeons I'd met w/ and his experience in teaching at a medical school, I think, helps him break down patients' issues while reviewing their MRIs w/ them into manageable parts for the patient to understand. His kind but very informative manner dwarfed all other surgeons I'd seen. He, and each of his team, spent a generous amount of time w/ me, all showing incredible compassion, while providing me w/ all pertinent information for my surgery. It was evident that he and his staff loved working together, loved their jobs and truly cared about their patients. I traveled from VT to see him. And I feel very confident in my decision to have him perform my lumbar fusion surgery.

This Dr Cut my carotid artery during surgery to drain a pituitary cyst in 2010. Causing brain injury. Blinding my right eye. messed up my short term memory. caused me to have a stroke.30 days in a coma several months in a rehab hospital.

I meet Dr Phillips 8 years ago and he ordered an MRI on my spine( neck) he found I had arthritis. He has spent a lot of time with me explaining my problem. He never makes me feel rushed. I've seen him a couple more times sense with my arthritis becoming worse. I have another visit soon do to new symtoms and know he will be there to help me. He's trully a great guy and I wouldn't consider anyone eles. Also having friends in the medical field I found by talking with them that he's the one most Doctors go to for their spine troubles and that speaks volumes..

I can't say enough great things about Doctor Phillip's. He is a good man with a big heart. One of THE BEST.
