I owe my life to Dr. Proli. 18 years ago he caught a problem with my heart that required emergency surgery. He arranged for Dr. Kirklin of the Kirklin Clinic in Birmingham, AL to personally perform my surgery. I have been under his care since then and I'm 18 years out and doing great! I do 3 miles on an eliptical machine 5 days a week. He does expect his patients to follow his care directions.

Being that Laurel is a small town they are often willing to take what help they can get, BUT in my case- I was refer by South Central Medical Center to Jefferson Place for a stress test. I always thought a stress test was just running on the treadmill. They did a variety of tests, but still really didn't explain to me what was wrong. Dr. Proli said he wanted to do a heart cath. If he can't figure out what is wrong from the test...isn't the heart cath just exploritory surgery then? He said he couldn't fix my problem on the first cath he would have to find the problem. Wouldn't it be wise to prepare to do everything in 1 go instead of exposing your patient twice to surgery? Since I asked for a referal he said expect a phone call from the other Doctor ...well this translates to I'm not calling some other Doctor's office. He never called or did the referral. I'm suprised someone hasn't sued him for poor treatment and malpractice already.

This man is a complete egotistical JERK!!!! He has complete disregard for his patients or their families, they are nothing more than a way for him to satisfy his greed by running unnecessary and dangerous tests in order to milk the medicare system and private insurance out of all the money he can get. If you try to ask why the test needs to be done and what treatment will follow an abnormal finding---WELL GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!!!! I was looked at like I had some nerve for questioning him and I didn't get an answer. I was told to have a seat with my mother in the waiting room and someone would come and get her for her test. When the Nuclear Medicine Tech came to the waiting room and called my mother's name he said and I quote" I'm here to take you to do you stress test" then he got in my face and said very rudely "unless you want to do it". I was completely appalled and embarressed by his remark.
