Many oral surgeons might charge the consultation fee and it might be common but I did not know. They charge thousands of dollars from their patients and still charge this consultation fee for literally looking at patient's teeth for a minute without explaining about the possible fee upfront. If I knew, I would not have gone to see this doctor. I just wanted to know a rough estimate of my teeth surgery and sent my x-rays and all the information they would need. But they insisted that Dr needs to see my teeth and I waited for a month to make an appointment. Dr looked at my teeth for a minute and sent me to the front desk to get the cost estimate from a lady there. I took a minute of Dr's time but he wasted one month of my time. I decided to have my surgery at a different place where there was no consultation fee and much better, clear explanation was provided. I was naive and did not know how greedy oral surgeons are. It must be easy to exploit from naive patients like… myself. If this is a regular business, they would have gone out of business due to bad customer service. I think I should have been told of the consultation fee before seeing the surgeon and hope they explain it to other poor, naive patients like me in the future.

I had a growth on my tongue 10 years ago and had it removed by someone not Dr. Rad. It was the most hideous recovery ever. The growth came back and this time, Dr. Rad removed it and it was great. My recovery was quick with very little pain. Not sure if technology has improved or the 1st doctor wasn't as good as Dr. Rad. He called with the biopsy report and said I could cancel my follow-up appointment since I was doing so well. That in itself is amazing - for a doctor to not say you have to come in so they get the office visit. The whole experience from the minute you arrive to the time you leave is a positive experience.
