Dr. Joseph Michael Richards, DO

He was recommended to me by another Dr. I suffer from chronic pain and many other conditions. Went to see him and wasn't in there but a very short time before he stood up and lead me out of his office! Completely out! He didn't say why and I was shocked! Speechless! Even the receptionist had her mouth wide open! He hadent spoken to me hardly at all! I went to my car and cried for a half an hour until I could drive home. The only thing I could come up with is he thought I was a drug seeker? I didn't do or say anything to make him think that! This man was awful! Because of him, I didn't go to anyone else and suffered for two years! I will never forget this horrible person. I now have the best professional pain management Doctor in the world who has changed my life!

He gave me a lot of pain

Refuses to give pain meds (too afraid of his shadow to give pain meds for fear of the AMA) , IV's with medication for the dying, cortisone and gel shots, topical creams for arthritis with lidocaine and other medications. Doctor is too afraid of medical establishment and his physicians license to dispense pain management medication or to refer a patient out to someone more qualified. Tries to send patients to unskilled and less certified "fake physicians" such as nurse practitioners and physicians assistants to be able to bill patients more for inferior treatment to NON-PHYSICIAN associates in his office). Does NOT THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF ALL PAIN!!!

Office staff is first impression and they are the nastiest women I've ever met and clearly don't understand their part!!! Worst pain of my life!!!! I had true herniated disk and was treated like a homeless person. I was denied dr Richards and they only allowed his PA, Jennifer to treat me. She neglected me physically and mentally. She also NEVER took time to look at my X-ray which showed another related medical issue! I switched to Rothman in Bryn Mawr and less than a month later I'm on the mend and I'm NOT an opioid user! I took the pain pills as needed and felt, from the beginning, they treated me as a drug user seeking meds which obviously was not the case! I hope this message helps at least one person from experiencing this nightmare! SAY NO to Dr. Richards when recommended by the ER at Bryn Mawr hospital.... Dr. Kurd is the way to go!!!!

Very calm, not an alarmist...very nice and helpful.

The "dried blood" that the one reviewer claimed they saw in treatment room is NOT blood ......... it is betadine or hibiclens that is used to cleanse the injection area. Sometimes it may spill out when depositing the tray into the trash can.

I have not been a patient of Dr. Richards. I am a Registered surgical Radiographic Technologist who has worked with him as well as dozens of MD's working in his field. I am not not his employee, nor do I work for his office at any capacity. I am a traveling surgical xray tech who works in multiple locations for a subcontracting employer. There is no available bias when I say this guy is beyond the standard professionally and emotionally, in other words; his approach at this level should be the standard sought. Dr. Richards is a true gentleman, and a consummate professional. He is atop of my long list of those I have seen perform.
