Dr. Joseph Anthony Rotella, MD

Dr Rotella is the best! I’m a difficult case. I have many unusual health issues & he just dove right in to make a plan of attack. He researches as needed & explains things in layman’s terms. I have very bad doctor anxiety & he put me at ease immediately. He’s laid back, non-imposing, but very tuned in to what you are saying. He listens! He’s very kind, professional, & he’s always available. He is very intelligent, down-to-earth, & has a lot of common sense, unlike many doctors I’ve had in past. He doesn’t have an ego or his own agenda, that gets in the way of caring for his patients! He genuinely cares & I trust him completely. He gives you options & let’s you decide what you want. He never makes me feel bad if I didn’t take his suggestions. He also has a great network of specialists, & he works with my insurance. Dr R even worked with my disability lawyers. The rest of his staff are equally professional, efficient, kind & they actually call you back.Appointments are easy to get too.

His staff is friendly, helpful, and highly responsive. I recommend Dr. Rotella without hesitation. If you can’t appreciate this man’s knowledge and true willingness to help you, you might just be the problem.

I am 69 years old and Dr. Rotella is the best doctor I have ever seen. He is the smartest, most compassionate, most caring and most thorough doctor I have ever known. He takes care of a myriad of problems so I don't have to see a number of specialists. He really listens when I talk which is very rare. His staff is great. The office is beautiful and convenient. He is simply the best and there is no more to say. I highly recommend him for your PCP.

The staff is god awful. I like him but Danielle one of the staff members made we wanna literally ring her neck. Not worth a minute of your time. Really dig when reading reviews on him. They are very poor .. I work for a marketing company and they have a department that specifally follows social media and reviews which is clear this practice does as well.. Dont buy what this shmuck is selling. You'll be sorry.

I have been going to Dr. Rotella since I moved to Arizona 5 years ago, and really struck gold in terms of picking a personal care physician. The best aspect in my opinion of his overall care would be his versatility. He's extremely knowledgeable in all areas of medical practice, and knows exactly what to do in any situation. In 2012, I was experiencing neck and back issues, had seen 3 or 4 chiropractors, all of whom either did not help my issue, or made my issue worse. I naturally contacted Dr. Rotella in desperation and really, as a last resort, and he immediately got me in, and immediately identified the underlying cause (trigger point), sending me home pain free. I saw him a few more times for the issue in the same year (my own doing, via strenuous resistance training) and each time he fixed me, even getting me in when his schedule was full. I highly recommend Dr. Rotella for any type of medical issue, even neck/back problems, as he is the best chiropractor I've come across. Nice… guy and friendly, helpful staff also.

I have been with Dr. Rotella for over a year. I have seen a number of different doctors in Arizona since I moved here in 2010. Dr. Rotella is old enough to appreciate issues at all ages and how to treat them. He is confident and comfortable in his own skin and knowledge base, good "bedside manner" but truly in the new school. He really listens to what is going on, takes into consideration your thoughts, research and together come to an agreed course of action and follow-up. There must be a connection with your primary care physician and ability to discuss any issue or problems. Dr. Rotella is a really good overall doctor and I am glad that I stumbled upon him!

Small boutique "hands on" practice..two Drs in the office (male & female)...you can generally get squeezed in with one of them in a semi emergency....and in a non emergency, can get in within a reasonable time (by Scottsdale standards). They have a good knowledge of general medicine, with quite a few procedures being done right in the office (so NOT referring you out to a Specialist every 5 minutes). Both Drs. (partner is Dr. Kelly Barker), are personable, compassionate, and most importantly, react in a NON ALARMIST fashion.
