Dr. Joseph Enrico Salvatore, MD

Dr. Salvatore is one of the best doctors I have ever encountered. He listens to you and truly cares about you! He is quite knowledgeable and is willing to take the time to help you understand the condition and treatment. Dr. Salvatore is available to his patients so much so that he makes you feel like you matter. He is brilliant and trustworthy - and I highly recommend him if you are in need of a doctor.

I wish all my other doctors were this sharp and helpful. Dr. Salvatore is friendly, efficient, available, and committed to having me take as little medication as possible. He's reachable if you have a question--which is more than I can say about almost any other doctor I've had--and very knowledgeable. I can't recommend him enough.

Dr. Salvatore went out of his way to insure a positive result for a fellow patient...I can't say enough about his compassion and expertise: the best!

Dr. Salvatore recognized my issue as legitimate and is very careful not to prescribe medication that is not needed. The prescribed medication treated the condition fully and safely, and it has allowed me to be happy and live a fulfilling life. Doesn't take insurance but some providers will reimburse you for the visit.

The best doctor I've ever had, regardless of specialty. Dr. Salvatore is caring, smart, attentive and available. Dr. Salvatore primary manages patients with medication, but he has the warmth and listening skills of a therapist. He's not cheap and isn't on insurance panels, but is well worth the fees, which are probably in line with Princeton anyway. Don't waste your time with a doctor you don't value and trust, he will be your psychiatrist as long as you need mental health care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Salvatore and found him to be warm, insightful and exceptionally competent. He has the bedside manner of a young family doctor and the savvy of an academic specialist. I had visited therapists, psychiatrists and medical doctors for years and had almost given up hope until Dr. Salvatore diagnosed my symptoms as a medical disorder. Now, finally I feel like a normal person. His fees are not low, but his attentiveness and dedication are certainly worthwhile.

Dr. Salvatore is an excellent psychiatrist. He is invested in his patients, and he always took the time to really listen to my concerns. The 20-30 min. in his office is actually therapeutic, which is uncommon for psychiatrists (trust me, I've seen many in my time.) I saw Dr. S for 3 years while living in Princeton. He is caring but also really smart (he knows what he's doing) and willing to think outside the box. He doesn't take insurance, though, so the average appointment is $150 out of pocket. It is worth it for this kind of care, though.

Professional, insightful and courteous. All psychiatrists should be like Dr. Salvatore.
