Dr. Joseph Schames is a great dentist. He is more than a dentist. He is an expert (in my opinion) regarding dental maladies sustained by injured workers in California. No matter how much you love your regular dentist, if he or she is not versed in the many aspects of dental injury due to work injury, you may give up a very important right. For example, sometimes, the medication one takes for work injuries may cause loss of teeth, TMJ and other issues that the work comp insurance should pay for, if it was caused by your work injury. Perhaps you hit your head or jammed your jaw together - there are so many possibilities. Dr. Schames has many, many years of wisdom, practical experience and knowledge regarding these important issues. He is an expert in his field. If your workers' comp carrier has him on their MPN list, or does not have any dental MPN, you are entitled to choose him as your dentist. Some examples that medication can do to your teeth include: teeth breaking; gum… disease; tooth sensitivity and more. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: I am not a dentist.
