Dr. Joseph Serra was born and raised in Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan for undergraduate studies and graduated from the University Of Detroit School Of Dentistry in 1990.
He opened a general practice in 1991 located in Farmington Hills, then moved to West Bloomfield in 2002. In 1996, he sought out a new avenue for his artistic side. He began to attend advanced post-graduate aesthetic courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (www.lviglobal.com). LVI, founded by Dr William Dickerson, provides many different advanced courses to dentists from around the world.
After taking the core curriculum, Dr. Serra was invited to become a clinical instructor at the institute. He has taught various courses there but has focused on the Full Mouth Reconstruction course, which he helped develop.
Dr. Serra also enjoys providing neuromuscular dentistry to his clients. His …knowledge of this type of dentistry allows him to provide successful therapy to TMJ and migraine headache sufferers.
Dr. Serra and his wife Noreen live in Novi and are busy raising their two kids. They enjoy sports, especially coaching basketball and playing golf.
