Dr. Joseph Frederick Shea, DDS

I met Dr. Shea at the ATSU dental university around 2016 - 2017. He supervised many of the procedures I had during the 14 months I went for 18 crowns and 6 implant crowns. He was always kind and friendly with the university students and myself. I continued working with Dr. Shea after the student I was assigned graduated. He and his office staff have been wonderful to work with and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I look forward to going in and chatting with everyone. I understand that many people leave more negative than positive reviews, and sure, maybe they weren't a good fit for them, but I have had a wonderful experience. I'm proud of the work they've done to restore my smile.

I just wanted to get my dentures to fit so I could eat without them popping around on every bite. This dentist diagnosed me without even looking in my mouth. He was rude arrogant and dismissive. He was not helpful in any way. I would suggest to everyone to use a different dentist.

Rude, dismissive and didn't look at the information I brought to him before his evaluation. Anger management issues! And don't you dare ask questions. Don't know how he keeps his practice.

I don't generally like writing reviews, but after seeing these poor mark's thought I should help "even the score." It was stress inducing having to work with a particular dental assistant that I found basically incompetentt, whose poor work caused me to present to the office numerous times: Fortunately she either quit or was let go toward the end of my care there. The receptionist/office anaget "Becky" was amazing--kind & efficient. Dr. Shea had an enormous project in having to redo another dentist's work, replacing 10 cosmetic crowns to correct what was basically a "nightmare." He did a great job, but unfortunately ground some natural teeth even further, causing some of the crowns to loosen and fall out. They were, however, simple for a dentist to reinsert, and so, while distressing, it apparently was necessary to correct what had previously been done. I get many compliments on the work, and am happy with that. I think if i had not had to experience working with the assistant … whom I referred to above, I would report my experience as a 5.

Incredibly rude to one of his assistants. The front office staff is rude and does not provide accurate information to insurance company. When I made a complaint I was called "incredibly ignorant"

Dr. Shea charged $6000 for an appliance that was poorly designed and executed, according to other professionals. He refused to reimburse any of this when the appliance failed within a year, and now I have to start all over and pay a different prosthodontist for the correct appliance. His work is shoddy, his manner rude and unprofessional, and I would never recommend him to anyone. I hope to prevent anyone else receiving the treatment I have received from this guy.

Hes horrible

If you like being yelled at and treated like dirt, you will love this guy. If I could rate him a ZERO, I would.

The dentist, and the staff, have issues that need to be addressed. I would NOT recommend
