Reading about Dr. Shrand on line he looks like a great choice for a doctor. Having experienced working with him, I'm going to tell you to keep looking. He's "worked" with my child in a program that states he will have family meetings and keep in close contact with family. In the first 30 days he's worked with my son, I heard from him twice....after I complained to other administration. My son recently went back to his program and, after 30 days, I have still not heard from him once. He has terrible communication with parents. My child is not fond of him either. I took what he said with a grain of salt at first, since he wasn't in a great place at the time. My son 's interaction with other staff was positive, he was getting a lot out of his time with them. When I asked about his time with Shrand he would grunt or roll his eyes. After reading Shrand's webpage, I'm extremely disappointed. i wonder what would happen If he did, what he states on his site, with the kids he is… supposed to be helping ???

Not only does the Doctor not return phone calls but he is very unprofessional. The comments he makes when you don't agree with him is childish. Also he is big on trying to push medication on the kids. This is a drug for a drug detox. Look for another place this one will not help your child.

My son was being followed by Dr. Shrand at an inpatient facility and there was almost no communication between myself and the Dr. I left @ least 7 or 8 messages and it took almost 2 week's to get a return call from him. I do not question his qualification's, however I do qustion his repor with his patient's caregivers. I had to stay in my house next to my phone for an entire day, just to wait for his call. I am pretty certain he does not stay in his office and wait for his patient's to call him? Common courteousy is a great thing.
