Dr. Joseph Grier Stewart JR., MD

I would not recommend going to Dr. Stewart. I have been seeing him for the past few years and have definitely come to the conclusion that there will never be an improvement in the medical help you receive from him. He really should be in a field of research or something along those lines as he never seems to help you with your ongoing health issues. He does not need one on one contact with patients. He finds a way to dismiss most all problems and spin them into a non issue. It is truly sad. He has a congenial way about his personality, but what good does that do if he never really helps you. I have a lot of medical experience in dealing with various doctors due to having had a history of medical issues. He is not well versed in many medical issues and it shows. One of my problems he said he had to google! My last visit took the cake, so to speak, when he told me my blood work was "all good" when it had flags on it that definitely needed attention and medication and I knew it prior to… asking.. He seems to want to do nothing but listen briefly, dismiss all problems and see you in a half a year so you can not get help again.

This doctor does not seem to really care about my presenting problem. He continues to minimize the problem, even when it has worsened significantly. He gives minimal advice, enough to send me away. Even though other doctors and other medical students, who met with me first, were concerned and had good ideas about possible diagnoses, tests, and treatments, he was in complete disagreement. This is confusing because I know it's a training setting, but it seems to me these other opinions and ideas are not valued at all, even from fellow doctors/colleagues. I don't plan to return to this doctor because I am so thoroughly dissatisfied. I suggest to people who are looking up this doctor to see someone else, if you want someone who will actually help you and will treat you well.

We have been seeing him for 4 years. I thought it would change and get better. But NO it didn't. He always appears not to be interested in your problem. Never ever finds out why your sick. I would rather see my pets Dr, at least her doctor cares for her. He just looks at you and continues to type into his computor. He never really gives us a examine.But I will say his students do.I would not waste my time or money on this doctor. The reason you get in fast to see him, is he has know patients!! After all my husband and I have went for 4 years, whom better to know that fact.

the staff at dr stewart's office make me comfortable and handle my problems/illnesses with care and compassion.
