Dr. Teynor was very helpful, knowledgeable and thorough. I also appreciated he spent some time to be personal, getting to know me. Great experience!

He was 55 min late for an early morning appt. When I (gently) commented on it, he blew up. Said he spends as much time as he wants with pts. "I could screw you twice. I could make you wait and then not give you your time." I was stunned. Would hate to have him for surgery on a day he is in a bad mood.

My total knee was revised after my first one wore out after 11 years My new one I can kneel and ski with it it is much more stable than the first. Surgeons My rehab was challenging but much easier and more productive than my first one as dr Teynor uses a lot of less invasive techniques

I never once saw him after he did my knee replacement. It was always his assistant Kurt that came in at my appointments. I started complaining about my pain right after getting home and started trying to bear weight on it while using my walker. There was something 'popping' out of the side of my knee when I tried walking on it. I kept telling my home therapist and the therapist at rehab, along with calling Teynors office. It was always Kurt to call me back, never Teynor and he poo poo'd my complaint as 'normal' post-operative pain. Even though I had a bone jutting out the side of my knee every time I would bear weight on it. Eventually the pain stopped, but the bone stayed popped out and is solid now. I saw surgeon at a Park Nicollet clinic a year after it was replaced, for pain and had to to have scar tissue removed. I've had scar tissue removed every year since the knee replacement over the last 5 years. 3 yrs post-op I started noticing a bow to my leg. It has continued to get worse… and is causing me more pain to the outside of my knee and back, because of this I am now limping. My new surgeon told me that the leg wasn't aligned properly during the replacement. The hardened bone that sticks out the side of my knee cannot be removed when I have a total knee revision this summer, thanks to Teynor, because she said it was my KNEE jutting out the side! It had twisted and grew that way after surgery. Gee, no wonder it hurt to bear weight on it! And, he had the nerve to tell me that I needed to get up and use it more the day after surgery. Apparently he didn't see the notes my overnight nurse wrote that I wanted out of the room for a while, so I did, 6 hours after waking up from the surgery. He is always in a hurry, doesn't pay attention when I talked or asked questions and it seemed he couldn't wait to get away and on to the next victim. More money if he can hurry up and cram more surgery into his day. I've never been more disappointed in a physician in my life.

The Edina office was converting to electronic medical records. When I arrived, I expressed cocern about having to provide so much of my medical history for a simple problem (I had never had to do this before at this clinic). Then, I waited 1 hour because of the records switch over. Then I had to sit through a 15 minutes while a nurse was being instructed on how to enter my data into the computer by the company that sold them the system. Then when Joseph Teynor arrived he told me I was rude to his nurses for not wanting to provide the information on the 6 pages of questions about my health history and told me not to come back to "his" clinic. Go figure.

i have known dr teynor for 15 plus years and he has cared for my family and myself. His bedside manner is superb and caring. his personal expertice is in sports medicine and total joint replacements which i have had close experience. He revised my knee and the revision has functioned better the the first one put in years ago by another surgeon. i have read some of the other reviews and some complain a bit but i must disagree. One thing about dr teynor is that he is willing to see every day problems not just the complex ones he specializes in. This is appreciated as alot of drs only see what is most profitable to them ignoring the everyday problems. i have referred dozens and none of these people have ever complained back to me about any of the care by dr teynor.

Dr. Teynor knew I had no insurance (I didn't tell him I had inheritance money that would cover my appointment) and when he saw the tattoo on my leg he said "if you can afford tattoos you can afford health insurance" among other offending comments about my lack of insurance. I wrote a letter to the office about his comments, 2 weeks later I haven't heard back.

Dr. Teynor is one of the most caring doctors I have been to yet. He has been my orthopedic doctor and surgeon for going on 20 years now. His nursing staff is also phenominal and always puts in the extra effort to do what has to be done to make is easiest for the patient. Due to my deteriating bones Dr. Teynor has had to do many surgeries on me and I have had total satisfaction. Great doctor, great nurses and great staff. Thank you Dr. Teynor for making my life more than bearable.
