Dr Joseph James Vicari

As a head/neck cancer survivor, I had Dr. Vicari as my GI doctor for 15 years. He is not just an excellent doctor, but he is more than an excellent human being. In all of those 15 years I did never feel any arrogance or feeling of superiority from this doctor. He always listens to my endless medical problems. He looks for answers for me beyond the Rockford medical community, but he goes as far as consulting with GI doctors from Mayo Clinic and surrounding cities hospitals in the effort trying to help me as much as he can as a doctor and as a human being. I had with Dr. Vicari already over 50 GI procedures over the last 15 years, where he has maintained my ability to eat post my radiation therapy destruction of esophagus. If there is any GI doctor I could recommend in the Rockford region, it will be Dr. Vicari. If I ever move from Rockford region due to the citiy's shortcoming of other qualified specialty doctors, I will still choose to keep Dr. Vicari as my GI doctor even driving back… and coming back to Rockford to see him. Thank you Dr. Vicari for managing to improve the quality of my life for the last 15 years in the most human and understanding way I could ever imagine and hope for from any medical professional.
