Joseph Wakim, MD

It is with pleasure that I write to express my heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Joseph Wakim, MD, and his exceptional staff for the superior medical care provided to me for the past two years. I found Dr. Wakim to be an outstanding physician: highly knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough. He takes time to listen, analyze, and works diligently to correctly diagnose the problem. His thoughtful approach and reassuring manner were pivotal in successfully identifying and treating my serious illness.

First off, Dr. Wakim doesn't return phone calls. Apparently, calls go through a centralized messaging system for Western CT health system, so there really isn't the personal touch of treating you as a "patient" versus a "person." I've been on hold anywhere from 8-10 minutes and still no return call for up to 2 days until a repeat call is made. For the patients he inherited from Dr. Dam, if you're not going to Norwalk Hospital, the hospital he is affiliated with, forget any type of services at all. Welcome to the new world of medicine and liability, and I assure you the geriatric patients will not receive any home visits as per their recording. That wouldn't even be possible since you can't even get a return call or appointment to arrange it.

I saw Dr. Joseph several times, since my doctor retired: Dr. Mark Dam who was an excellent and very accured in his diagnosis and as a person that you could trust your health. Dr Joseph W. is young, full of knowledge, make me feel comfortable and confidence that I can trust him, like I did with Dr. Mark Dam. God blessed him. Like I said I feel very comfortable and confidence and he will be my doctor for many years to come. I feel that way.
