Dr. Joseph Lee Wilhelm, MD

If you're looking for a wonderful Ophthalmologist you will not find a better one than Dr. Joseph Wilhelm. He has a stellar reputation and years of experience. Dr. Wilhelm did my husband's cataract surgery. Dr. Wilhelm called that same day to see how he was doing and when we went back for his checkup we were given a little vase with beautiful flowers. You don't find many doctors nowadays taking the time to give such personable care.

Terrible bed side manner !!!!

As a long time patient of Dr. Wilheim I was quite pleased with the office and with the detached retina surgery that he performed on me. I was a patient for over 20 years afree that. However, due to a missed appointment policy that doesn't allow you to miss more than three appointments, I was released as a patient and had to find a new doctor. This was difficult as I had become comfortable and felt safe with Dr. Wilheim. After a long relationship with the office and with the doctor will home I felt as though I should have been given the opportunity to at least speak with Dr. Wilhelm, but at this point I was treated as if I was unknown to any of the office staff or Dr. Wilheim. What a way to treat a long standing patient...

I HAVE BEEN A PATIENT OF DR. WILHELMS FOR NEARLY 15 YEARS. HE HAS PERFORMED CATARACT SURGERY ON BOTH EYES. BOTH TIMES HE WAS PRESENTED WITH RARE COMPLICATIONS. I WOULD "SEE" NO OTHER THAN DR. WILHELM. IF NOT FOR DR. WILHELM I WOULD PROBABLY BE WITHOUT ANY SIGHT AT ALL. DR. WILHELM IS BY FAR THE BEST OF THE BEST AT WHAT HE DOES BOTH IN THE OFFICE AND IN OPERATING ROOM. DR. WILHELM AND EVERYONE IN HIS OFFICE MAKES ME FEEL LIKE A FAMILY MEMBER. I RECOMMEND DR. WILHELM TO FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND EVEN STRANGERS IN NEED OF AN EXCELLENT OPTHAMOLOGIST, RETINAL SPECIALIST, AND/OR A CATARACT SURGEON. REST ASSURED YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS WHEN IN DR. WILHELM AND HIS TEAMS CARE. FOREVER GRATEFUL!!!

Dr. Wilhelm is an excellent doctor. He is able to take care of any eye problem. He is always prompt. His staff is always polite and also eager to help. His experience is priceless. He tries hard to talk with you and always answers all your questions, even though it is obvious he is extremely busy. He seems to work too much which I don`t think is good for him, but it seems to be good for his patients. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WHO HAD AN EYE PROBLEM. I wish him all the best and thank him sincerely for all the assistance he has given me. My eyes are so much better than they were when I first met him, and for that I am immensely grateful. Thank you Dr. Wilhelm.

Dr. Wilhelm went above after my cataract surgery by calling that evening to see how I was doing with my eye drops. The next day the office gave me a small bouquet of flowers which have lasted almost two weeks. I called with a question and was treated very professionally by the staff. Follow up appointments have gone well and I am so pleased to be seeing things much clearer. Looking forward to having the other eye done.

Very good doctor. I've been going to him for years. Also treated my wife for emergency tears in her retina. I appreciated the fact that he got her right in and took care of the issue prior to something bad happening. I know that if anyone in my family has an eye emergency Dr. Wilhelm will take care of them.

I would like to respond to the review that complained of a long wait. I will agree that his experience is extreme. One possible reason is a patient like me. I did not plan on detaching my retina that day, but when it happened the office staff had me come in immediately. I know I was "bumping" other patients, but lose of eyesight IS an emergency. I am grateful Dr. Wilhelm and his staff are able to prioritize and helped me that day. I apologize for any inconvience to other patients. I am grateful I still have my vision and it is all due to Dr. Wilhelm.

If a doctors office doesn't want me to be late and requests that I show up a half hour before my appointment, then I expect not to wait an hour and a half (OR MORE) past my appointment.What functional professional makes a patient wait more than an hour and a half? ANSWER: Dr. WilhelmI was brought back right at my appointment time.Eyes were dilated and scanned and I was back in the back waiting room 5 -10 minutes later. I waited....waited....waited...and....waited.45 minutes after my appointment time a man came in to the cramped and FULL waiting room and said Dr. Wilhelm is 30 mintues behind...please be patient.I waited another 45 minutes and still was not called back. So I left.Dr. Wilhelm....are we plebians not worthy of commmon courtesies like perhaps a phone call before we come or a chance to reschedule BEFORE eyes get dilated? Why couldn't you let me know at check-in that you were so far behind?Would you still allow us plebians to be seen if we showed up an hour and a half late?Who… knows how long I would have sat there.
