I used to love seeing Dr. Zerega but everything had changed since he joined the hospital a few years ago. Everything had gone down (his attention to me, his staff's etiquette, his follow up, the quality of the surgery center - I used to have my colonoscopy in a wonderful surgery center now I have to have it in the hospital at an increased price). I resent that and know this is all about money. Even the outpatient visits to the office are charged with a higher fee because he is now a hospital employee as opposed to being on his own like he was in the past.

The move to the new office location behind the Hospital, seems to have left behind (or trashed) "respect" and "patient care" from their previous office'! "Attitudes" have changed from care to "we're fancy & upscale now". Seems like the 'Red pick a number box: Next!"... From long waits far after your assigned appointment time, an arrogant nurse disrespecting and punishing you as if your a low grade infected street person; only to be rushed through the actual doctor meeting ('sorry, no time for questions'); leaving you totally confused because you're left with no more detail than information you could have found on any website! .They don't care anything about your own doctor referral or files either. The "staff from the old office" have been 'replaced by pods of new strangers'! It might be better to 'visit' with a "3-piece suit"...

I recently revisited Dr. Zerega after not seeing him in ten years, can you believe he remembered me? He has great bedside manners and I would tell/recommend him to anyone in need of the expertise as he has.

Dr.Zerega calls your home on Sunday mornings with an automated message reminding you of your visit which might not be for two more days. On Monday, an office staff person calls you to remind you again. I asked the staff not to call me with an automated call on a Sunday at 9:00 A.M. But they called me again on a Sunday at that time before my next appointment which was for that Tuesday. The doctor is more considered about filling his schedule than being considerate of his patients. Also waited almost one hour after appointment time to be seen.
