Dr. Josephine Baisa Montana, MD

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Josephine Montana for over six years, and I truly couldn’t ask for a better primary care physician. Dr. Montana is compassionate, thorough, and always takes the time to listen. She explains things clearly, makes me feel heard, and genuinely cares about my long-term health—not just quick fixes. The office staff is just as wonderful. They are friendly, professional, and incredibly efficient. Whether it’s scheduling appointments, handling referrals, or answering questions, they always go above and beyond to make each visit as smooth and stress-free as possible. I’m very grateful to be under the care of Dr. Montana and her amazing team. It’s rare to find such a consistent level of care and kindness. Highly recommend!

No other doctor could figure out what was wrong with me until I went to doctor Montana. She took the time to make sure the correct tests were conducted. She also sent me to specialist to check for things that no other doctor would do. After all my tests were conducted and I saw the specialist I had multiple issues and needed stable medication. Doctor Montana made sure and continues to make sure that I am stable and able to function. Before this I could barely function at work and half the time could not attend. Doctor Montana saved my life.

The doctor is okay, but the staff was the breaking point. They are rude, made a mess of records, blamed their mistakes on me, never answer the phone, and were just plain out rude. I’m very patient and will let almost anything slide, but I just couldn’t take it anymore.

Son needed physical for surgery clearance. Office and exam rooms are in poor, old condition. Waited 1.5 hours for Dr to finally come in and didn’t leave till after 2 hours! My 5 year old was not happy! Tried getting bloodwork results a week later and office personnel was extremely rude and said they didn’t have them when I called the lab and they had faxed them twice to the fax number the staff had given me!! Never going there again and we DO NOT recommend this Dr! Save yourself the stress, hassle and frustration!!

This Doctor and her staff has to be the worst in the High Desert. Very incompetent and irresponsible. Where do I start? First Nobody ever answers the phone. I believe they are always at lunch or busier then they think they are to answer the phone at all time during business hours. Leave a message and don't expect a phone call back in the near future. If you are lucky to get through good luck with the office staff. The staff redefines the term …..unprofessionalism. The receptionists either are not paying attention to what you are saying to them , or really don't care because you are bothering them when you call. If they cant answer your questions they transfer you to Dr. Montana's nurse (Yassee) who has no busy being a nurse . She is extremely rude on the phone and to your face and makes a effort to be difficult and uncooperative . This miserable human being must hate her job, because she sure acts like it. The Doctor herself is again very incompetent and… obvious clueless when it comes to her patient care. The prescriptions sent to the pharmacy are either wrong on incomplete. EXAMPLE: Diabetics require insulin , and this Doctor is very good on dragging her feet to provide her patient with insulin. Any uneducated person that didn't go to Med school knows that a Type 1 diabetic without insulin either ends up in the hospital or DEAD. Choose wisely when you choose a Medical Doctor , some are in it for the money and some are in it because they love helping people. This Doctor is defiantly a negative!

I was a new patient. I waited for an hour before the assistant came out and told us patients in waiting area that we still had to wait an additional 30minutes or so to be seen because the Dr was out. I walked out and changed provider.

Bad experience.

Dr Montana and her staff have been fantastic. Helped me get through a huge health hurtle, cancer. She was very caring and understanding. Got me in to see the specialist within the next few days. Couldn't have found a better doctor and office.

My mom and grandfather both see this doctor and she is great. Real patient and understanding.

Where do I start? She sent me for numerous needless tests. She sent me to a cardiologist when I needed a hematologist. She wanted me to come to see here every two months "Just to check on me." Translation=she wants to bill, and bill, and bill. My final straw was when she stopped giving me a prescription for my high blood pressure medicine because I would not comply with her every two months regime. No Hippocratic oath, here. She wants to bill, period. Awful physician. Worse than Petrus.
