Summary
I chose to become a physical therapist because I wanted to work in healthcare but avoid some of the red tape that can come with other health careers. I also wanted to work in a profession where problem solving is a day-to-day activity and I was also able to be active during the day. My approach to patient care is to try and challenge preconceived notions that patients sometimes have regarding exercise and movement. I like to emphasize that exercise is medicine and has similar effects on your body. When I am not at work, I like to try and stay in shape, check out local breweries, travel, and take our dog Sophie along when we can.
