As a skier, physician, wife, mother, and runner, I was worried about what my bulging disc would mean in terms of pain and activity for the rest of my life. However, Dr. Beckman performed a microdiscectomy and absolutely changed my life. I couldn’t recommend anyone more (and neither could the Radiologist, Pain Management physician, and my anesthesiology friends who all told me to see specifically him). I went from being in so much pain and on multiple pain medications, feeling like I wouldn’t be able to return to my normal active life, to being 100% back to normal. The day after surgery, I walked 3.5 miles. I swam at 3 weeks, ran after a couple of months and was back on Vail’s Legendary Back Bowls in less than 4 months with no issues. I can’t say enough about Dr. Beckman. He has an amazing bedside manner, is responsive, aligned with my goals, and is a talented surgeon.
