Dr. Joshua Block, MD

Saw this doctor after moving to the area and initially had a great experience. However, at a follow-up appointment six months later, he informed me he had “changed his philosophy” and would no longer prescribe birth control. It was extremely frustrating to take time off work, drive to the appointment, and pay for a follow-up visit only to leave finding out I would no longer be able to continue prescriptions I had already been taking under his care. I wish this had been communicated ahead of time so I could have found another provider before my prescriptions were about to run out.

I am writing a review to say that my spouse is now ALSO in the care of Dr. Block and am updating the review consequently. If you are looking for qualities of a healthcare professional like: "attention to detail", "a warm demeanor" and "thoroughly knowledgeable" then you have the right place. Go see Dr. Block and don't be afraid to take the first steps in feeling better.

So personable, great listener, and always takes his time!

Everytime I visit with Dr. Joshua Block and his friendly and professional staff at Theda Care, in Darboy, I am ALWAYS treated properly, quickly, respectfully, and provided with excellent care and mesical (if needed at the time) attention. He is always willing to talk with you about additional health risks and advises effective and accurate ways and preventative information to handle (and or) treat yourself with cost saving means and methods if neccessary! Dr. Joshua Block thinks beyond his own patients i feel when he reminds me to also remind family members to stay and keep sanitation and hygiene use daily to help reduce bacteria and virus spreading illness to others and yourself. He offers great bill payment options and again at a cost saving (if possible) perspective. I enjoy and always look forward to seeing Dr. Block and his team of staff members including the ladies at the front desks who continuously work hard along side others to ensure we all as theda care patient's are… provided with top care and reminders to keep us,family members, and friends included as healthy as possible. From my perspective view, Thank you Dr. Block for all your time and considerations, and positive attitude which brings clarity and relieves the stress involved when dealing with medication, or medical report results. My children had an appt today with Dr I I received a call from nurse who stated Dr Block read my review and it was hurtful and not true therefore would like me to find a different doctor. BECAUSE OF MY REVIEW! First of all I spoke to Maryann (RN) Friday ,was told more blood work ordered because. I could go on sat to diff location. I said I could wait until mon. Mon I went in and no other tests were ordered....so yes! I did have to miss work getting child care etc..(Stated in previous review). Maryann also stated two prescriptions were going to be sent to my pharmacy . I went to pharmacy on sat and they had nothing for me. So no! He did not follow up on plan.(prev review) Furthermore I asked to be put back on the gabapentin I had been on for years but stopped taking last year (my choice) . I received an email from Sarah (RN) and I quote...”Dr. Block will not refill gabapentin. This is a medication that can be abused, and if you would need this medication Dr. Block would try… alternative treatments first” (I said ok that’s fine) then message cont “Dr. Block does have concerns about prescribing any medication that could potentially be addictive and abused. He is not comfortable prescribing that type of medication.” (Reason for my comment in pre review) I was referred to dr block by a friend who sees him shes on narcotics (pain/anxiety) Buy I wasn’t asking for a narcotic ! Sarah (RN) also stated in email Dr Block said he will not prescribe ADHD meds until an evaluation is done. I had to keep repeating I didn’t ask him to prescribe. I asked for him to request my records from the hospital I did the evaluation so I can proceed with getting back on my ADHD meds. Instead I received many different statements of “dr block will not prescribe adhd meds without eval.(prev review) The worst part is my children had appt with him today! He knows they have been suffering miserable symptoms and pain fatigue vomiting fever etc from toxic mold. He could have had me in there today to clear things up. Instead I get a call from (Sarah) RN who stated Dr Block knows your children have appt today but he would like you to find another Dr...SERIOUSLY! How insane

I was hopeful when I saw him. I thought I found someone to finally listen. NOPE! Not only that I was given a label as drug seeking when I’m not! He is nothing like he says in his bio!!! Took a lot of blood work . Showed him pics of swollen lymph nodes . His office said he ordered more tests so when I went in for them they were never ordered! Nor did they follow thru with the plan they said they would. Per the dr. I wish I was notified of this. Days off work, sitter etc... and low and behold for nothing. I’ll cont to look for someone who looks at the symptoms and proof and who will dig until they find out what is wrong with myself and children! Waste of time so do yourself a favor and find someone else

This doctor will never last long around here. My doctor left and I got stuck with this idiot. Been on meds for 4 years and he cut me off before meeting me no reason... He don't like them is not good enough... Very rude, arrogant. I will NEVER be back. A friend of mine had the same issues with him and she's never even met this guy... He's pulling confidential charts and yanking everyone off the meds he don't like... Dumb!!!!
