Dr. Joshua Robert Karas, MD

In treating my malignant dysplaysia, Dr. Karas was patient and rational and kind. My procedure has complications due to 25-year-old clear mesh. Thank you for your help!

Though I give him credit for saving my life no one even Humana and medicare and my primary could never get hold of his office. It's all looped and automated. No one can get in touch with his office or leave a message to get the next faze of the surgeries done which is removing the drain. Five months later I'm still stuck with a drain sticking out of my ass and no way of getting an appointment for the surgery. It's been a total nightmare.

Dr Karas & his nurse Dionne are amazing. I came in with an emergency situation, and after my OB/GYN got me in for a consult with Dr. Karas, he ended up direct admitting me for surgery after seeing how much pain I was in. I know of no other doctor that would ever do that. His bedside manner is impeccable, and he explains things so that you can understand. I am still following up with him for treatment, and his continued patient care is so much appreciated.

Specialist this days are focused on results; Understandable, but it's also true that as caregivers we want to also see a human that cares for others & in the middle of the crisis find the way to explained carefully the options & what could or not happened in the middle of all. This is what we found with Dr. Karas; a professional that puts the patients first & explore the condition doing all possible to ensure his patient (in this case my father) had a good chance to heal & overcome his crisis. It took months to finally get over the other side of our road; my dad is 83yrs. old, cardiac patient & diabetic (we were scared not to be able to overcome the infections, the bacteria & the post operation care required) Kara's was clear on the post operation cleaning instructions & he followed up on my dad till he was healed.

I was referred to Dr Karas because surgery was my last option. He was very good at explaining where I was physically what options I really had but he never pressured me. My surgery was suppose to be 4 to 5 hours. Didn't know when you are constantly stressed/anxious your insides literally get sticky and adhere to each other, not good. Doc could have just connected a bag, close me up and call it day. Doc Kara's did not, he took the extra time to "unstick" my organs and ultimately removed 12 inches of my intentines.all work was done lapriscoppaly until the removal of the dead stuff. Operation took about 7 hours, no bag and felt really good. Hospital was suppose to be 5 - 7 days, was discharged in 4. My recovery was very fast with minimal pain. Part may be Gene's but part is an excellent doctor and supporting staff.

What a Kind Hearted, Compassionate Doctor, Dr. Joshua R. Karas is. Words cannot describe this Doctor, he went above and beyond what we expected. He treated his patients the way he would treat his family members. He is very comforting in times of need. He will never disappoint you with a visit to your bedside or a promised phone call. My husband had a surgery for Diverticulitis, which was explained to us step by step. After the surgery there was complications which was expected. I lost hope when Dr. Karas was still hopeful. Thank God for All the Prayers but mostly Thank God for an Awesome and Amazing Doctor like Dr. Karas. His Prayers and Professionalism is why my husband is pain free and Alive today. My husband can finally live a normal life, after so many years of excruciating pain. He can pretty much eat and drink almost everything he couldn't have before. Just to let you know Dr. Karas also did an Outstanding job with the reverse of his ileostomy. Thank you very much Dr.… Karas and Big Thanks to your Wonderful & Supporting Staff especially Pamela.

Dr. Karas is very knowledgeable and skilled. I'm very satisfied with the care provided by him. !00% recommend this Doctor.
