Dr. Joshua Howard Levin, MD

The illiterate reviews w/ one star should be ignored. Pain management, especially spine management, is fraught with a difficult patient population seeking pain medications. Dr. Levin is kind, caring, intelligent, and attentive to my needs. He has cared for my family members and truly knows spine anatomy/pathophysiology. He is well-trained and empathetic.

It's hard to believe the review from the previous person...makes me wonder about them. Best, most caring doctor I've ever seen.

Smug and unhelpful. Never seen such disregard for a patient’s well being. First appointment he barely touched me and just said my symptoms didn’t make sense. Second appointment pushed me off to another doctor. He basically told me there’s nothing to be done for my back and just learn to deal with it. I’ve had back issues for 21 years, I know how to deal with it but I was clearly having increased pain and thought someone at Stanford would be able to help. Lastly, I recently called his office because my back went out and was hoping to see him because I could barely move. The nurse gave him the message. She called me back and said, “Dr. Levin says that he sees you have an appointment with the pain management clinic (in 3 weeks) and says to just bring this issue up to them.” I said, “First of all that’s 3 weeks away, do you understand what it’s like to have a back go out? That appointment is for my hip. My back is out so I am calling to see my back doctor.” She suggested calling to see if… I could get in earlier at the clinic. I ended the call with, “So just to be clear, he will not see me?” Her response, “No.” Not seeing someone who is in horrific pain and telling them to just wait 3 weeks is inhuman.

A very non perceptive doctor. Not interested in helping you solve pain problems. No investegation of the severity of pain or causes. Glib suggestions that may or may not have already been tried. Not a diagnostition..

come in with a suit give s you less than 5 min of his time do not touch you write on a piece of paper and make up anything to jot down what a waste.

I would not recommend him to anyone. Bedside manner and concern for patient was completely lacking. Not able to give practical and helpful suggestions.
