Dr. Joshua Paul Maniscalco, MD

I have been working with Dr. Mansicalco for the past year and have seen significant improvement in my condition because of the time and effort he spent with me. I am feeling much better than I have in many years and actually look forward to waking up and greeting each day. Dr. Mansicalco didn't just prescribe me a pill and send me on my way which has been my experience with previous psychiatrists. He actually took the time to evaluate my biopsychosocial functioning and made recommendations that eventually resulted in the person I am today. As with anything, it took a lot of work on my part to get there, but having someone like Dr. Maniscalco certainly made the journey easier to navigate. I couldn't recommend him enough. And, although he doesn't deal with the insurance industry the OOP expense was well worth it.

I highly recommend Dr. Maniscalco. He is so knowledgeable and caring. He really listens to me.

I finally went to see Dr. Maniscalco last week after being told for several months by my therapist that I should go see him to iron out my medications. Like the reviews on this site suggest, he is really nice and is really good, and I wish I would have gone to see him sooner. I feel much better than I did when I first saw him 2 weeks ago.

As we have navigated for years thru the world of appropriate treatments for our child's ADD/ADHD we have felt anxiety and worry because we have been told soooo many things and have had her on different drug regimens and yet nothing really seemed to be helping that much......UNTIL we found Dr. Maniscalco. What a BLESSING to finally have a doctor that really seems to CARE and has a real interest in your childs well-being! One cannot underestimate the level of trust parents put in physicians when they are searching for the appropriate therapy to help their child. To say that we TRUST Dr. Maniscalco 100% is to say alot---afterall it is our child we are entrusting in his care. He has been given a true gift in being able to help and care for others.. Believe me there is NOT a Dr. that we have seen in Austin that can compare to the professional yet caring and sincere approach that Dr. Maniscalco has. He has been a true blessing to us, we TRUST him and his judgement and are so thankful… that we finally have a Doctor that we truly admire and love.

We love Dr. Josh so much that we'd like to have him as our neighbor. He's very kind and thoughtful about our two boys. We trust his expertise in navigating the sea of ADD and dyslexia information. He remains grounded, empathetic and intellectually engaging. It's a great feeling to have a concerned partner in dealing with raising a family.

Dr. Maniscalco has been pivotal in treating me for severe dyslexia and ADHD... I have tried several psychiatrists before me , and it was always meds meds meds.... Dr. M was much more knowledgable about medication than anyone I've met... he helped me simplify my medication and he helped me me develop a nutrition, exercise and coaching plan to complete my work on time... I feel better than ever! Over the last year, my grades are way up and I was accepted to my first choice of law school I owe a lot to him and I am grateful that he is my doctor.... best decisions I've made!!!

Dr. M is great! I was looking for a psychiatrist that would treat me as a whole person, and not just prescribe medication. That is exactly what I found in Dr. M. He is respectful and caring, in addition to being intelligent and thoughtful. I feel like he actually listens, which is not always the case with doctors. I highly recommend him. You will not be disappointed!

He approaches my teenager daughter without prejudgement and explains to us the differences of symptoms rather than jumping to the conclusion. I like his cautious and scientific approaches to work with my daughter. He is also a counselor for her and he responds to her with sympathetic, yet logical and firm manners. I have my confidence in him and feel very fortunate to find him. My daughter likes him and shows her trust and respect for him. It means much coming from her. And he listens.

I was one of Dr Maniscalco's patients for almost a year when he was at NYU Hospital. He is a true gem of a doctor, very smart, witty and easy to talk to... I am sorry to see that he's moved! I remember him saying he was going to move back to Austin one day, but I can't believe he did!!!! I hope he comes back!!!!!!!

Dr. M is great... he is very helpful and down to earth and it's easy to see he cares.
