Joshua Nelson, MD

I do not recommend Dr. Joshua Nelson as a plastic surgeon. I had 2 visits with him, at the recommendation of my breast surgeon for a bilateral mastectomy. I had informed him that I am a rare disease patient with anesthesia protocol. At the pre-op I asked him to review the documents that i provided his MA. My surgery was scheduled. A week before surgery I had not been scheduled for an overnight stay post-op, I called his clinic to inquire. Several days before my scheduled surgery Dr. Joshua Nelson called me in a panic asking why I needed an overnight stay. He stated that he was worried I would die in the OR, he said he didn’t want to do the surgery, he was worried about liability. He never over the 1 year period reviewed my chart, my diagnoses, medical history, or documents. Had I not have called his clinic, he would have taken a scalpel to my breasts without reviewing any of my medical chart. He was informed by me of my anesthesia protocol & diagnoses, at the pre-op visit I had with… him, and he expressed no concerns & surgery was scheduled. Several days before surgery he panics & cancels my scheduled bilateral mastectomy, AND after I was cleared for surgery! It’s concerning that he failed to review my medical chart & properly prepare for my scheduled surgery, also concerning that he panicked at the last minute & canceled my scheduled surgery just days before surgery.
