Dr. Joshua Nguyen, MD

Dr. Nguyen is a good doctor. However, his staff is less to be desired. Every time I call the clinic to try to speak to Dr. Nguyen or the nurse, I have to navigate through the phone to the nurse and leave a message. The turnaround is 3-4 hours. Also, if you go for blood test, don't expect a call back if something's wrong. You have to call back a few days later (leave a message) and expect a call back from the nurse to schedule an appointment; which will be about a 1 - 1 1/2 week later. Appointments to see the doctor don't start as schedule. They are always, at least, 30 minutes late. So, either he's understaffed or inadequate staff.

Doctor Nguyen takes time listen to his patients. You will not feel hurried. For a physical, you should be prepared to discuss from the toenail on your toe to the hair on your head. Additionally, his office is generally a one-stop shop. You don't have to go out for bloodwork because they do all blood draws there.

Dr. is very thorough in his evaluation of medical issues and proactive in his treatment approach. Seems however that he has back-office has issues as calls are not returned, e-mails not acknowledged and pharmacies have difficulty in getting prescriptions authorized.

LONG WAIT BUT WONDERFUL DOCTOR AND STAFF

Dr. Nguyen is a very compassionate and caring doctor. I would recommend him to anyone.

I came here on the recommendation of my coworker. I have very limited, hghi deductible insurance--he worked with me on the office visit rate and prescribed a course of medication that I could afford without insurance coverage. He also discussed options with me so I wouldn't have to return if I started having the issues. As I was new patient, he also took the time to get to know my family's medical history and suggested some things I could work on to help avoid future health issues. Overall i was very satisfied and felt very comfortable.

Yes, I agree the wait time can suck. Just book any Dr. appt. anywhere and there's going to be a wait. The key is- does the Doc know what the heck he's doing AND does he give you undivided attention? I have seen several doctors- NONE of which gave me the diagnosis that was true... except Dr. Nguyen. I had elevated enzyme levels. All previous physicians thought it was my gallbladder or that I was an excessive drinker. Finally when I went to Dr. Nguyen after years (and I mean YEARS... at least 15 years!) of seeing other physicians- he said that I probably had Hep B because of my ethnicity and that I received it linearly from my Mom when I was born. He was right. None of my siblings even told me that they had it too- the jerks! This man has saved my liver and my life.Every time I have ever visited with him, he is calm, caring and really does take his time with the appointment- there is never ever an inkling that he has someone else waiting in another room for him. Always a gentle voice,… profoundly caring and professional. He looks you in the eye and leans his neck and head forward when you speak and shows interest in every word you (I) say.I drive what I consider a long way to get to his office from my house. I hated the drive- passing other Dr. offices along the way (in my insurance plan!) that I could certainly save gas to see- this was my impression before seeing him. Now- I wouldn't switch him for the world.If I were his Mom, I'd totally be proud of the way he treats and cares for his patients.

This office is always plagued with long waiting times. On my last visit I waited over an hour and 15 minutes past my appoint time before the frustration became too much and I left. When informing the office staff they could only answer "ok" instead of trying to be professional and attempt to organize another suitable time or heaven forbid offer an apology. The lack of professionalism and courtesy offered by the office staff is quiet frankly appalling.If it was not for Dr Nguyen and his excellent manner and medical ability I would go somewhere else
