Dr. Joshua Marc Rycus, DO

DO NOT GO THERE, DOCTOR WORKS HIGH!! As he walked in the room, he asked me where I lived and I told him I drove from Boca (office is in Coral Springs). Then he said "Are you high to drive all the way from Boca to come here." I'm a Christian and I don't do drugs so this was a real awkward conversation. I went for a free preventative exam and was charged over $170 just to see this guy who should not be practicing. Plus my free preventative lab work came out to be $200 (which I didn't do of course). After calling and asking him to send me the paperwork with the right lab codes so there's no charge, he didn't want to do so. I asked for a refund since I didn't get what I was supposed to. The manager yelled words like "You listen to me!" and hung up on my face, which was the most unprofessional experiencing that I've been through. If you don't believe me, go there and see for yourself. And if you do, please relate your experience here.

4 reviews 2 minutes ago The Best Doctor!! Dr. Rycus is well-rounded and values you as a person. I appreciate his direct but gentle approach. Sometimes you may have to wait because of all the people who see him but his knowledge and care is worth it.

Always overbooks and will look to charge anything he can to insurance. Ask about the office procedures he has staff perform just to charge extra for. This is not a medical practice as much as a money business. His staff is rude.

Dr. Rycus is the most compassionate caring doctor in Florida... He cares about his patients some visits may be longer then others because he takes the time to listen to you. His staff is amazing, at any given time if you call for an emergency visit or a regular visit they will do everything they can to put you in... I have been his patient since he got out of med school over 15 years and if your looking for a good caring doctor, well look no further... If your looking for a doctor that is just a prescription writer, keep looking. Dr. Rycus and his team work very hard to maintain a great relationship with his patients... So yes, long visits, yes you pay for your own drug screen, Drug tests aren’t free so to be screened is for the doctors protection and the patients best interest.. No real doctor is going to write a controlled substance with recreational drugs in their system.. So for anyone reading this review, take it from a long term Patient.. If you don’t have the respect of other… patients in this office or the staff then you should keep looking, but I promise you will never find a better doctor or staff then this one...

Dr Rycus is a nice guy and a pretty good doctor. However, he is money hungry and in my opinion, overcharges his patients. If you need certain types of medications he will charge you a $20 drug test fee. He has a new office manager/biller and she makes sure to collect every red cent. So while he’s treating you and circling all of those codes on his billing sheet, your meter is running. And he will bill you for whatever the insurance doesn’t pay him. I used him for years and I have seen my billfold shrink while his Parkland house gets bigger. You would think there would be some trade off since the average office visit takes 2 hours

Sends you to labs to get testing and makes diagnosis, gives you prescription the whole nine yards and when it is time to fill out document to provide proof especially for senior citizens it's a no we don't fill or sign forms. Knowing that if he is the primary doctor patients will need confirmed documents from him and you won't get it.... They slammed the glass in my face and said go find the specialist and have him sign.... Stay Away from this doctor...

Dr. Rycus office is terrible, unprofessional, he changes staff constantly. I don't know how he made it to med school. Also, he needs to know in business you don't get too sensitive, bringing your wife to cry about everyone who talks to her. His wife made a mistake instead of him asking what's the matter, how he can solve this problem? He waits after hours later came to the waiting room told me "that's my wife, I can't serve you anymore." I do not recommend this office for anyone.

Not only do you wait forever but all he talks about is himself. He seemed to be heavy medicated and rather than try to figure out what was wrong with me he gave me a ton of unnecessary medication and said try this if it doesn’t work we will try something else. It is also a pill mill so if that’s what you want this is the place for you.

He is a great person, joyful and positive. Very knowledgeable doctor that takes his time explaining your condition and treatment. I agree that you have to wait but he does not push you out the door to see the next patient. He will listen to you and treat you as a patient with due respect and attention. He might be a little too talkative sometimes but not everybody is perfect, besides it is better to have a happy talkative doctor than a grouchy doctor that does not even try to be a nice person to you. Office very clean and office personnel very nice and helpful.

This Dr told me that my baby had a huge head. I couldn’t believe it. A person in his position mocking a baby. My son Is 8 years old now and he is perfect.
