Dr. Joshua D Safer, MD

I was literally traumatized by my experience at Dr. Safer's office. Something you don't expect to hear from an Endocrinologist you are seeing for MtF HRT: "The nurse was in her right to refer to you as male because that's how your gender is listed on your health insurance." Something you don't expect to hear from one of the "leading" endocrinology researchers in the country (or so I've been told): "So, what meds do you want? There's not much research on which meds are best, so I usually just give people the cheapest ones." Something you don't expect to hear from *any* doctor or nurse mere seconds after an appointment (I had turned to grab my purse): "You have to leave right now because someone needs this room and has been waiting." Other things happened. I'd rather not talk about them. Seriously, if you are a transgendered individual, do NOT go to Dr. Safer. His office was actively hostile toward me for my gender identity.

This guy is THE worst doctor I've ever met. He has one way of thinking and doesn't listen. He read a text book and he recites it to you and then sends you to the lab and says see you in a month. Very, very bad experience with the guy.
