Dr. Joshua Wayne Stringer, MD

I took my husband to the ER at UT on Hwy 271 on Father's Day with leg pains and left with the feeling that this young doctor knows what he is talking about, he knows his business. He allowed US to explain why we were there, then he proceeded to tell us what he thought my husband's problem was. He made some suggestions and then instructed us to see our primary doctor. At no time did he come across to us that he had a "God Complex". He did come across as knowing what he is talking about. He's young and still shows enthusiasm about his job. Let's not cut him off just yet. My husband and I seem to think he has potential to cure people if they will only give him a chance. Some people just don't like to hear anyone else's prognosis but their own. I say keep up the good work Dr. Stringer.

This young doctor works the ER and after more than one bad experience with myself and a family friend, I decided to speak up and report his behavior. He seems to have an ego problem, one of those 'God complexes' you hear about, and does NOT listen to his patients. Even when you are trying your best to explain your medical history, he may go off in left field and leave you with a discharge diagnosis that is not even close to accurate, just so he can feel like he is right. I would give more details, but since we still use this Hospital (not for much longer, I hope) I feel it could compromise our healthcare if I were to be more specific. Nevertheless, I still feel the need to warn patients to be sure and stand up for yourself, and follow-up with your primary care doctor asap. Good luck.
