Dr. Joshua Jim Umbehr, MD

By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor! I pay a monthly fee (plus tests and literally everything else out of pocket), he’s supposed to always be available and there for you when he’s not and most of the time won’t even respond. He won’t give me a work dr’s note or FMLA, (he says that IBS in an acute illness when it’s a chronic condition??) and says I shouldn’t be taking 4 Imodium a night but refuses to give me any other solutions when asked (I’m desperate and wanting to go back to a normal work/home life)! He won’t prescribe my normal meds I’ve been taking for a long time, I gave him ROI’s for a detailed reference on all things. He tells me to go to the ER and wouldn’t test me for Covid because he’s “low on tests and I’m young so most likely will recover” even when I’m an essential worker and needed to know for others’ sake. Then I found out he wouldn’t give a friend of mine an EKG because it was “unlikely” that someone at his age would have issues but he wanted… peace of mind because two of his high school friends had recently had heart problems. He had to insist and after 3 times finally got one and of course paid out of pocket.

Arrogant businessman trying to make money off of his business model. He will take the most conservative approach to medicine and only wants healthy patients, so he can charge them a monthly fee.

Recommended by a friend when I had an emergency on a visit. He was reasonable, accurate, spent time with me. Thanks doc.

Dr. Umbehr is easy to talk with, very personable and he laughs easily. He gives you his undivided attention during appointments and/or phone consultations; but what I really like is that he doesn't make you feel rushed or make you feel silly for asking questions. A big plus...he takes the "mystery" out of medicine for his patients. He's easily reachable when needed and his offices are clean, modern, comfortable and the prices are very reasonable. I've been a patient of his for approximately two and one-half years and I've been more than pleased with the care that I and my family have received in that time. On my very first visit to Dr. Umbehr, his diagnosis was "spot-on." I've recommended his service to numerous other folks and anyone I've sent his way has been pleased with the care they've received.

This man is the worst doctor I have ever dealt with. We have had the misfortune of taking our son to the ER in Dodge City when he was working on a weekend. He told us there was nothing wrong with our son and that we shouldn't be concerned with his high fever because our society has a "fever phobia". Our son also had a severe cough and was vomiting. He didn't listen to his lungs or do a chest X-ray. Less than 2 days later our son saw his usual pediatrician and was immediately put into the hospital with pneumonia. The second time we had the misfortune of dealing with this doctor was again at the ER in Dodge City. Our son woke up screaming with abdominal pain and was saying ouchie it hurts the entire time. We were told it was constipation and basically blown off. He sent a 4 year old home in quite a bit of pain with no treatment.

dr umbehr is the absolute BEST dr i've EVER been to! he doesn't completely over fill his plate so he actually has TIME to visit with his patients and get to know them and thier lifestyle,which is VERY helpful in him diagnosing and KNOWING you!i PRAY he never moves away,this is the dr i plan to have for life!!!!!!
