Dr. Joshua Evan Yankelove, MD

Dr. Yankelove treated my elderly mother, following a referral from her orthopedist. The orthopedist had successfully used pain management with my mother at least twice prior to the referral. Dr. Yankelove chose to use a different medication and process, without telling us in advance how his treatment would be different, and our result was unsuccessful. Upon being questioned, his staff relayed that the doctor would not do the procedure in the manner or with the medication that was previously successful, as he did not use either for "these types of cases." Intervention by the orthopedic practice resulted in an agreement to use the successful medication, but not the procedure that was successful. Staff was asked to try to get us to agree to that compromise, and staff was very kind. Unfortunately, the procedure used by Dr. Yankelove caused some harm the first time and we chose to seek other alternatives. He did not take into consideration that individual patients do no always… respond to "standard" procedures, even after his methods were not successful.
