Dr. Joy Antonelle Demarcaida, MD

I went to Dr. De Marcaida and she scheduled a battery of tests that helped identify causes to my issues. I then met with her and went over all aspects of the tests that were of concern. She had a great comforting manner in her interactions with me. After the appointment, I felt like I had spent time with a wise, kind and caring person that knew exactly how to treat me and my issues. Thankful that I found the best.

Very understanding and easy to talk to

Horrible. I booked an appointment to see Dr. Demarcaida and never saw her. Saw the APRN who took 3 weeks to return my calls. I received my test results via a voicemail with "call if you have any questions", zero attempt at a treatment plan or a follow up. Constantly told that my calls would be returned and they were after weeks...but by the receptionist. Tried to put me back on medication that I told them did not work and made me unable to function and was asked if the medicine was causing my pain. What?! Prescribed another medication that did nothing and didn't bother to try to find another one, just told me to stop taking it after I told them I stopped taking it. They do not listen to you at all. Bordering on malpractice.

As a long-term dystonia patient, I've been through the mill with doctors and know when one is taking my case seriously, as is Dr. De Marcaida. She has been caring, available, intuitive, non-judgmental, and up to date on everything about my condition. She never rushes me in and out like some would. Her staff goes the extra step with SS paperwork and Rx refills. On top of that, she's a dog lover and allows me to bring my pooch to the office! While some people might be allergic, or dislike dogs, I think it's a great idea. I came to her from the best neurologist I've ever met (a Harvard researcher and head of the Mass Gen Movement Disorder Clinic!) and was slow to "come around" to a new doctor, but she has won my approval.

Very caring. After waiting a bit for my appointment and in the waiting room it became clear why she is in such high demand. Beautiful office very comfortable.

Dr De Marcaida cared for my late wife during the last few years of my wife's life, providing wise, extremely knowledgeable, contientious, timely, compassionate treatment and support for us, as we struggled with my wife's CBGD, a Parkinson's-like ailment of the brain. I have only the highest praises for and thanks to Dr De Marcaida and her staff.

I cant understand how a uncaring unorofessional MD and staff could stay in business for 19 years.

Words cannot describe how extraordinary this professional is. She is compassionate, intelligent, thoughful, takes time with each and every patient. I have never waited more than 3-4 minutes for an appointment uless I was early. A consumate professional.

First impression, 2 dogs in office, smelled like dog (what if allergic to dogs?). Dirty office and exam rooms. Very cold inside. Waited 45 min. in exam room. Although medical history forms were filled out, when I was finally seen by the doctor she didn't know my name or why I was there. There was no sincere apology for the 45 min. wait. She blamed the wait on the elderly patient before me, stating "old people lie and sometimes it takes longer." Worst experience ever at a Dr.'s office.

pt had parkinsons,& due to over medication was suffering from paranoia & missed several app'ts. Now patient is doing well on right meds, and Dr. will not take into consideration the situation at the time of missed appt's & refuses to see her. That's some caring Dr.!!
