Dr. Joy Marie Helou, DDS

So thankful for Dr. Joy and her office. The entire team is warm, caring, and comforting. Dr. Joy is honest and will not up charge for unnecessary services. She does incredible solid work and is so patient!

Dr. Joy Helou is a great dentist. When I chipped a tooth she got me in quickly. She was very gentle. I have difficultly matching my tooth color. She is the 1st dentist to get a good match for me. Very important because it is a front tooth. Her staff is friendly and professional. I would highly recomend her.

General cleaning are no issues with this dentist , yet have an issue with pain and you won’t get any tangible help , not even in the interim while waiting to be evaluated by a specialist ! You will get the run around. I was in with a toothache weeks ago and was referred to an endodontist. While waiting to be seen by the endo to evaluate me for a root canal, apparently there is no help in the interim for the pain I’m having as I have learned. I call the endodontist and they won’t give me even a few pain pills in interim before procedure (which I do understand ) as I haven’t been evaluated yet. The endodontist suggested I call the referring dentist ( Dr Joy ) for medication in interim. I did so and beingbthis is the second time I have asked , this dentist again offered me 800 mg Motrin which I refused as nsaids are tough on my IBS . Does it not occur it to this dentist one can buy Advil OTC anyday and just take 4 tabs ? ) Dr Joy suggested I go to urgent care for pain , and urgent care… suggested I go to the dentist. It ends up being a circle of no help for me EVEN while waiting for an appt which as of now the endodontist is unable to schedule earlier for me. I may seek a 24 hour emergency dentist now because I want it FIXED , not here for pain pills. I can only think this is all about an opioid crisis , and why must the patient foot the bill for some bad business ? Btw , I hate narcotic meds , but I hate intolerable pain even worse. The question I as well as others should be asking themselves is where does actual patient care start and end , as the lines have been blurred in the process and I have found being a patient here , the patient loses. Unethical doctors and people that abuse drugs have put an end to help with pain for the rest of us good folks here and in this , it seems to me , to the professional is more concerned they ensure their pretty license hanging on their wall remains intact vs actual patient care when there’s an issue. Look elsewhere !!
