Dr. Joyce Qaqundah, MD

I recently became a new patient of Dr. Joyce Qaqundah, MD, after being highly recommended by a close friend—and I couldn’t be more grateful for the referral. From the moment I walked into the office, I felt genuinely cared for. Dr. Qaqundah is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and patient. She took the time to listen to all of my concerns and answered every single one of my questions with clarity and compassion. It’s clear that she truly cares about her patients' well-being. Her assistant, who speaks fluent Chinese (Taiwanese Mandarin), was equally outstanding. She made me feel completely at ease, and it was especially helpful that she could communicate with me so clearly in my native language. She was warm, professional, and very attentive throughout the visit. This team is truly exceptional. I feel very fortunate to have found them, and I highly recommend Dr. Qaqundah and her assistant to anyone seeking thoughtful, patient-centered care.

What I like about Dr. Qaqunda is her systematic approach: she looks at the your entire body and not only at symptoms you complain about. I think that Dr. Qaqunda saved my life when I was in really deep trouble with pneumonia getting weaker and weaker every day. Dr. Qaqunda prescribed different antibiotic and delivery by injection that worked almost immediately. I was back on my feet in a week. She also helped treating complications by administering pro-biotics and pre-biotics. She is very attentive, always calls back to check patient's status and provides appropriate referrals. I would gladly recommend Dr. Qaqunda to anybody in need of good warm family doctor.

Dr. Q is a wonderful, caring doctor. She is our family general practitioner and we are all very happy with her. She is kind and understanding, listens, has a very nice bedside manner, is a great diagnostician, follows up after treatment, leans towards a conservative approach to treatment, recommends supplements - not just prescription medication. We recommend her highly.

Dr. Q is very straight forward and easy to understand. When I came in with depression, she was very careful about the type and dose of my medication and even switched meds for me when my insurance was an issue. I quickly was weaned from my meds and feel one hundred percent healthy. She has great follow up and I even received personal phone calls from her regarding things. She checked up on me very frequently during my ordeal. In a place as big as Scripps, it is nice to have the feel of a "small" neighborhood doctor. I am going to have my husband start going as well!

I have been seeing Dr. Qaqundah for about six years. She was SO helpful to me when I was diagnosed She went out of her way to located complementary and alternative medical doctors for me and encouraged me to stick with the oncologist who she recommended. I credit this team for saving my life and Dr. Qaqundah for leading the team. She is a kind, caring person as well as an excellent doctor. I hope to stay with her for the long term.

I feel so lucky to have Dr. Qaqundah as my primary care doctor. She is a warm, caring person--which is a rare treat in the medical profession. She was there for me when I was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago, and stayed with me while I called her at all hours of the day with my doubts and fears. I am healthy now and continue to choose her as my primary care doctor because I trust her professional judgment and appreciate her caring manner.
